9 Introduct ion The Nortel Networks* e-mobility* 80 2.1 1b W ireless LAN DSSS PCI Card allows PCI slot-equipped host systems to configure, connect to, and establish a wireless network. 10 Install ing the PCI card The PCI card installation differ s for each system . Refer to the system manu facturer docu mentation for sp ecific informa tion. Preparati on Before beginning the installati on, verify the packa ge contents: • e-mobilit y 802.
11 : 1 T urn off power to th e computer . 2 Remove the computer co ver . 3 Loc ate an av ailab le PC I slo t in t he co mpute r . 4 Remove the retaining screw and bracket for the slot. 5 Align the PCI card with the slot and insert firmly . 6 V eri fy that the PCI card seats even tly into the slot.
12 Install ing and configuring the driver in Windows 95 and Windows 98 Before install ing the e- mobility W indows d river: • V erify that the e-mob ility 802.1 1b W ireless LAN DSSS PCI Card is insta lled. • Obtain the e-mob ility W indows driver installa tion CD.

14 Installing the driver i n Windows 9 8 T o install the driver for the first time in W indows 98: 1 Install the 802.1 1b W ireless LAN DSSS PCI Card as describe d in the in stallation sec tion. 2 Power up the system. 3 Insert the e- mobility 802.1 1b W ireless LAN DSSS software CD.
15 Configuring the 802.1 1b Wireless LAN DSSS PCI Card for Windows 95 and Windows 98 T o co nfigure the PCI card f or W indo ws 95 o r W ind ows 98 supp ort: 1 From the W indows Co ntrol Pa nel, select Network and select e-mobilit y 802.1 1b W ireless LAN DSSS PCI Card.
16 Installing the driver i n Windows N T T o install the driver for the first time in W indows NT : 1 Install the PCI card as describ ed in the installa tion section. 2 Power up the system. 3 Insert the e- mobility 802.1 1b W ireless LAN DSSS software CD.
