Connect the components 13 Connect the components Before you begin CA U TION Damage to Equipment Do not plug your IP Phone 1110 into a regular or ISDN telephone jack. This results in severe da mage to the IP Phone. Consult your system ad ministrator to ensure that you plug your phone into a 10/100BaseT Ethernet jack.
Connect the components 14 Figure 3: Release the phone from the stand Use the following steps to connect the components of your ph one. 1. Remove the stand cover . Pull upward on the center catch (see Figure 4) and remove th e stand cover from the stand base.

Connect the AC power adapter (not supp lied) to the AC adapter jack in the bottom of the phone (see Figure 5 ). Form a small bend in the cable, and the n thread the adapter co rd through the channel in the sta nd base.

Local tools 29 Local tools Your IP Phone 1110 has both local and server-based tele phone tools and features. This section discusses the variou s tools and features available locally on your IP Ph one 1110. Many of the tools and features discu ssed in this section are for administrato r use only.
Local tools 30 When you are w orking in Edit m ode, the first fie ld of the item is highlighted and a blinking cursor is to the right of the current edit position. The navigation controls for Edit mo de are described in Table 2 . 1. Preferences When the Preferences option is selec ted from the Local tools m enu, a Preferences submenu appears.
