5 Installation Linksys X -Series 5 Set up your modem-r outer automatically (X1000 screens shown.) 1. Inser t the CD into your CD or DVD drive . 2. Click Set up your Linksys Rout er .

Select RFC 2364 PPPoA from the Enc apsulation drop- down menu. 3. F or the Virtual Circuit ID , enter 0 for the VPI and 100 f or the VCI .
9 How to use Cisc o Connect Linksys X -Series Main Menu – Computers and Devic es Use this option to connect another computer or device t o the router . 1. T o connect another computer or device to the router , click Add device . Then, follo w the on-screen instructions.
10 Advanc ed Configuration Linksys X -Series Easy Setup Key Update or create key The Easy Setup Key (not included) is a USB flash drive that holds the wireless settings for the router . I f you want to create or update an Easy Setup Key , click this option.

20 Advanc ed Configuration Linksys X -Series W ireless > Guest A ccess The Guest A ccess feature allows you to provide guests visiting your home with Internet access via wireless. The guest network is a wireless net work separate from your local net work.
20 T roubleshooting Linksys X -Series 20 X1000/X3500 Y our computer c annot connec t to the Internet. F ollow the instructions until your computer can connect to the Internet: • Make sure that the Modem Router is power ed on. The Po wer LED should be green and not flashing .
21 T roubleshooting Linksys X -Series The router does not have a coaxial port for the cable connection. A coaxial cable can connect to only a cable modem. Y our modem rout er works as a modem with your ADSL I nternet, but if y ou ha ve cable Internet, your modem router should be connected to a separate cable modem.
