Mechanical Considerations 9 4.0 M ECHANICAL C ONSIDERATIONS 4.1 Determining Placement in the Conditioned Sp ace The Liebert XDH units should be placed am ong the cabinets that generate th e greatest amou nt of heat. If heat loads are dispersed ev enly throug hout the room, the Liebert XDH modules may be spread out accordingly.

Piping 15 5.3 Connection Met hods and Point s Refer to site specific drawings for general locati ons of the piping connect ions. For Liebert XDH con- nection locations, refer also to Figure 16 . The assembly and connection means used for piping in the Liebert XD system are the same as those used in conventional refrigera tion systems.
Piping 16 5.4 Piping Considerations —Hard-Piped Connections Refrigerant enters and exits th e Liebert XDH through connections on the top of the unit (see Figure 16 ). The supply piping for each refriger ation circuit is 1/2" OD copper pi pe. The return piping for each cir- cuit is 7/8" OD copper.
Piping 17 5.4.2 Brazing Prep arations After the holding ch arge has been v e nted, a torch can be used to remove the caps over the ends of the supply and return lines. The assembly and connection means used for piping in the Liebert XD system are similar to those used for conven tional refrigeration s ystems.

Operation 26 8.0 O PERATION The Liebert XDH’s controls are on the front of the un it at the Liebert XDH’s midl ine for easy access. Each switch controls the operation of one bank o f three fans (see Figure 26 ).
Maintenance 27 9.0 M AINTENANCE Minimal maintenance is required to keep the Liebert XDH operat ing at o ptimal levels. The un it should be cleaned and checked for damage an d worn parts.
Maintenance 28 9.3 Remove Fan T ray 1. Ensure that all el ectrical powe r to the Li ebert XDH has been shut of f before begi nning to remove the fan tray. 2. Remove four bolts on the Li ebert XDH fan tray (see Figure 27 ). 3. Lift the tray out of the unit to install the new tray.
