9 Chapt er 2 Inst allati on and Basi c Configura tion This chapter will guid e you step s by step s to install and configur e the W ireless Router . W e suggest you g o over the whole chapter f irst and then do more adv anced operation.
10 2.3 Configure the IP Address of Y our C ompute r In order to communicate with this W ireless Router , you have to configure the IP address of your comp uter to make it comp atible with the device. Note: The router supports DHC P server and it is enabled as default.

13 Chapt er 3 We b - Based M anag ement 3.1 Sta r t t h e We b - Based Management Interface The device uses W eb as the management int erface. Y ou can use a browser to a ccess the management interface easily . Please follow the step s listed below . 1.

17 3.3 Setup Wizard If you are using the router for the first time, please follow the procedures of the setup wizard to do a step - by - step configuration. Note: Th e co nf ig ur at io ns in A P , Rou ter an d Client mode s are almos t the same. The followi ng guide m ainly introduces t his devi ce under the Router mode environment.

19 5. Click “ Next” butt on, the “W irele ss Security Setup” pop s out. Having f inished these steps , you can use the r outer to surf the In ternet.
20 3.4 W irele ss In Client mode, the W i reless interface default support universal repeater (one w lan interf ace used as AP and client co ncurrently) function; you can set w ireless client mode connect Access Point, and then the V ir tual AP mode can sharing IP to W ireless Client s.
21 Note: T his function only suppor t in Router & A P mode, not support in Client mode. Wireless Mode In the drop list, there are two types of wireless mode: “AP” and “Client”. Y ou may select one type for your configuration. Note: This fuction only support in AP mode.

24 3. 4 .3 S ecur it y The Security function protects your w ireless network from invasion. We provide W EP and W P A encryption to secure your wireless network. Please select “ Disable ” , “ W EP ” , “ W PA - PSK ” , “ W PA 2 - PSK ” , or “ W PA 2- Mi xe d ” in t he drop list.
25 2. Security Mode -- WEP It em s Information Select SSID Please choose a S SID y ou have set for this ro uter in the W ireless > Basic Setti ngs from the drop - down list. The SSID w ill be shown on the wir eless network for recognizing . Encryption Select a security e ncryption mode for this rout er .
26 3. Security Mode – WPA / W P A 2 - PSK It em s Information Select SSID Please choose a SSID you hav e set for t his router by click in g “ Wireless > Basic Settings ” from t he drop - down list . The SSI D will be shown on the wireless network for your recognition .
27 Pre - Shared Key Format T o decide the f ormat, select “ Passphr ase ” or “ Hex ” in the drop list. Pre - Shared Key Enter the “ Pre - shared Key ” accor ding to the pr e - shared key format you select. This is the shar ed secret between AP and ST A.

30 3. Select one of the network s e xisting in the list of the site survey table and then click “ Next ” button, then t he following page pops out. 4. In this pa ge, you can i nput the selected AP’ s p assword, then click “connect ” bu tton to start connection wi th wireless network.

33 3. 4 .6 WP S Settings The primary goal o f Wi - Fi Protected S etup (Wi - Fi Simple Configur ation) is to simplif y the security setup and mana g em en t of W i - Fi networks.
