4 COOKTOP USE This manual covers dif ferent models. Th e cooktop you have purchased may have some or all of the features listed. Model KICU500 Induction Cookin g Induction cooking is qui te differ ent from trad itio nal for ms of cooking. The heat is generated directly in the pan, keeping the cooking su rface coole r than a tr aditional elemen t.
5 Cooktop C ontrols The touch-act ivated elect ronic controls offer a variety of heat settings for optimal cooking r esults. When melting foods such as chocolate or butter , or when proofin g bread, the surface cooking area can be set to the keep warm functi on for minimal surface cooking area operation .
6 Simmer The Simmer function can be u sed on all surface cooking areas. Simmer can be used on more than 1 surface cooking area at a time. To U s e : To T u r n O n : 1. Check that a su rface cooking area has been se lected. 2. T ou ch SIMME R. “A” will appear in the d isplay , and the indicator light next to Simmer will light.
7 If you attempt to use Performance Boost on mor e than one surface cookin g area in the same zone , “P” will brie fly flash i n the displa y and the fi rst surface c ooking area selected f or Performanc e Boost will aut omatically be set back to the high est power availab le setting.
