S AV E T HESE I NSTRUCTIONS FOR F UTURE R EFERENCE 3 C LEANING S AFETY Turn off all controls and wait for appliance parts to cool before touching or cleaning them. Do not touch the burner grates or surrounding areas until they have had suffi- cient time to cool.
Settings Uses Hi Use Hi to bring liquid to a boil, or reach pressure in a pressure cooker. Always reduce setting to a lower heat when liquids begin to boil or foods begin to cook. An intermediate flame size is used to continue cooking. Food will not cook any faster when a higher flame setting is used than needed to maintain a gentle boil.
4 NO TES: 5 • A properly adjusted burner with clean ports will light within a few seconds. If using natural gas, the flame will be blue with a deeper blue inner cone. If the burner flame is yellow or is noisy, the air/gas mixture may be incorrect. Contact a service technician to adjust.
6 C ONTROL K NOBS • Remove knobs in the OFF position by pulling up. • Wash, rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents as they may scratch the finish. • Turn on each burner to be sure the knobs have been correctly replaced. C OOKTOP -P ORCELAIN E NAMEL Porcelain enamel is glass fused on metal and may crack or chip with misuse.
