6 O VEN TIMER OPERA TION The ov en timer off ers you the f ollowing f eatures: 1. Time of Da y 2. A utomatic Cooking 3. Minute Minder A UT OMA TIC COOKING The T op Oven and Main Ov en can be controlled automatically .
7 CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure correct time of day is always set, before using your cooker. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DISPLAY WILL DIM BETWEEN 22.
SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven controls are turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will show 0.00 and Auto symbol will be flashing intermittently. Step 4 Press & hold in both the “Minute Minder” & “Cook Period” button together.
9 ELECTRONIC CL OCK & A UT OMA TIC OVEN TIMER OPERA TION Step 3 Press and hold in the Cook Period button. The display will read 0.00 with the cookpot ( ) symbol lit . Step 4 With the Cook Period button still held in, set the required Coo k Period using the “+” and “–” buttons.
10 ELECTRONIC CL OCK & A UT OMA TIC OVEN TIMER OPERA TION Step 4 Press & hold in the “Cook Period” button, the display will read 0.00 and the cookpot ( ) symbol will light up. With the Cook Period button still held set the required Cook Period using the “+” and “–” buttons.

When cooking Automatically the Cook Period can be checked at any time simply by pressing the Cook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any time by simply pressing the End Time button.
12 HO TPLA TE The hotplate lid is fitted with a saf ety device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Do not use the saf ety device as a means of controlling the hotplate burners.

The f ollowing char t is a guide. Grilling can be star ted from cold but f or best results preheat f or approximately tw o minutes. Most cooking is done with the heat on full, but it ma y be desirab le to reduce it f or thick er pieces of meat or for keeping f ood wa r m.
The ov en has diff erent heat zones – the thermostat settings ref er to the temperature on the middle shelf; abov e this shelf it is hotter and belo w it is cooler . T wo shelv es provide six possib le cooking le vels enab ling full use of the diff erent temperatures inside the ov en.
COLD ST ART COOKING Anything requiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold o ven. Satisf actory results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, b ut f or perf ection we recommend preheating the ov en f or about 15 minutes at the gas mark you require f or cooking.
The f ollowing times and setting are for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to giv e a result more to your satisf action. When a diff erent setting to that shown below is giv en in a recipe, the recipe instructions should be f ollowed.

The ‘E’ setting on the main ov en thermostat is used for slow cooking, k eeping f ood warm and war ming plates f or shor t per iods. USING THE ‘E’ SETTING FOR SLO W COOKING 1. All dishes cook ed by the ‘E’ setting should be cook ed for a m inim um 6 hours.
The top ov en can be used to cook small quantities of f ood or used in conjunction with the main ov en to provide additional cooking space . The shelf in the top ov en has a heat shield fitted at the rear . The shield can be remov ed f or cleaning and grilling, but must be replaced when using the o ven.

Switch off the electricity supply and allo w to cool before c leaning the cooker . Clean the cooker regularly and wipe up spills soon after the y o ccur to prevent them fr om becoming burnt on. Ne ver use biological washi ng powder , caustic cleaners, har sh abrasives, scouring pads, aerosol c leaners or oven c hemical cleaners of an y kind.

25 CARE AND CLEANING Take particular care not to damage the inner surface of the door inner glass that is coated with a heat reflective lay er . Do not use scouring pads, or abrasive powder , which will scratch the glass. Ensure that the glass panel is not subjected to any sharp mec hanical blows.

Prior to installation, ensure that the local distr ibution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions are compatible . The adjustment conditions f or this appliance are stated on the data badge which is fitted behind the bottom of the main ov en door seal.

SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker is of type X with regard to protection against o verheating of surrounding surf aces as defined in BS EN60 335 - 2 - 6: 1991 The cooker can be close fitted belo w hotplate le vel. This requires a minimum distance of 600mm between cupboard units of hotplate height.

CONNECTING T O GAS SUPPL Y The cooker is designed to match the depth of standard 600mm w or ktops. An adapter backplate should, theref ore , be fitted within the shaded area shown to allo w the cooker to be pushed fully to the wall. Connection to the cooker should be made with an appro ved appliance fle xib le connection to BS 669.
33 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a proper ly ear thed, readily accessible w all sock et which is adjacent to, and not more than 1.25m a wa y from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot touch hot par ts of the cooker i.
INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check f or gas soundness. The supply pressur e can be check ed at the grill injector . Access to the injector is b y first removing the baffle at the front of the grill fastened b y two scre ws.
