HT-2333BK User Ma nual Before you proceed with the installat ion, please notice the following descriptions. Note 1: The followi ng installation was operated under Windows XP. (Procedures are simil ar for Windows 98SE/Me/2000.) Note 2: If you have installed the WLAN USB driver & utility before, please uninstall the old version fi rst.
1. I nstallation 1. If you insert the Wireless LAN USB Adaptor into your com puter USB port after `` installing the software pr ogram from the CD, then the following window pops up. 2 . Click Cancel . 3. Choose a set up language. 4. Click Next to process the installation.
6. Click install to W LAN USB adaptor in stallation ..
7. On Windows Logo Software Inst allation screen, click Continue An yway to continue. Note: Not all the drivers will have this m essage box. 8. Click Finish to complete t he installation.
9. After setup, restart your comput er 2. Uninstallation A. Uninstall t he WLAN USB Adaptor Driver from “Wireles s Networ k Driver and Utility” o r “Control Panel”. C lick “ Uninstall” (or “Change/Remove” ) to remove W ireless LAN USB Adaptor dr iver.
B. C lick “OK” if yo u want to re move W ireless LAN USB Adaptor Driver . C. C lick “Finish” to com plete the uninstallation. Making a Basic Ne twork Connection In the fol lowing i nstructi on for m aking a ne twork c onnecti on, we use the utili ty we provided to configure your wireless network settings.
Note: F or Wi ndows XP users tha t w ant to co nfigur e your wire less netwo rk using this Utility , p lease perform the following procedures to disable your native Wi ndows XP wireless support (Wireless Zero Configur ation Service) 1. Double c lick the icon on your des ktop to st art the utility or in the task bar .
To use this ada pter in Ad - Hoc Mode 1. Double c lick the icon on your des ktop to st art the utility or in the task bar . 2. Click th e “Available Network” button to scan available wireless network adapters. Double click on the n etwork adapter that you are going to connect to.
4. Click OK to add this n etwork in to the prof ile list . Note: This example is an open wireless network. If you are going to connect to a Wireless adapter with security protection, you wi ll have to config ure the encryption settings in this profile to be corresponding to the other wireless adapter.
Infrastructure mode An Infr astructure Mod e network con tains at least one wireless client and one wireless AP or ro uter . This c lient co nnects to Internet or intr anet by co mmunicati ng with this wirel ess AP .
To use this adapter in Infrastructure Mode: 1. Double c lick the icon on your des ktop to st art the utility or in the task bar . 2. Click th e “Available Netw ork” button to scan ava ilable access poi nts. Doub le click on the AP that you are going to connect to.
4. Click OK t o add this netw ork int o the profile list..
Note: This example is an open w ireless network. If you are going to connect to an AP with security protection, you will have to co nfigure t he encryption settings in this profile to be corresponding to your AP.
General After st arting the ut ility , the general page pops up This General tab provides the informa tion of y our curr ent wireless netwo rk co nnection. Y ou may cli ck the Ren ew IP button to refresh tho se listed i n formation. Status: Check if the device associated to target network.
Profile The Profile tab lists the preferre d connections. Y ou can click the b uttons beside to do configure each con nection. Add Click this button to add a connection profile for this adapter . Remove T o remove a connection profile , click this p rofile on the profile list and click this butto n to dele te it.
Available Network This avai lable tab lists the reachable wireless network of this adapter . Refresh Click this button to rescan available networks around the adapter . Add to Profile T o add an avail able Network to your profile l ist, select an av ailable network a nd click this button to add.
Advanced This Adva nced tab pro v ides adv anced configurati ons to this adapter . Ever y modification in this tab will be pe rformed after cli cking the Apply button. T o restore the def ault setting s of the advanced tab, click the Set defaults button to perform restoring.
