Loosen the T ool Rest Handle of the lathe , and slide the T ool Rest Base of the lathe to as near the Headstock of the lathe as possibl e.

Loosen the two Set Scre ws (20) on the T ool Holder (24), and e xtend the Cutting T ool (31) out about 4 inches.
