4 IMPOR T ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (continued) • Know which knob controls each surface burner . Always turn the knob to the LITE position when igniting the burners. Visually check that the burner has lit. Then adjust the flame so it does not extend beyond the edge of the utensil.
5 For most cooking , start on the highest control setting and then turn to a lower one to complete the process. Use the chart below as a guide for determining proper flame size for various types of cooking. The size and type of utensil used and the amount of food being cooked will influence the setting needed for cooking.
6 Setting Surface Contr ols The color of the flame is the key to proper burner adjustment. A good flame is clear, blue and hardly visible in a well-lighted room. Each cone of flame should be steady and sharply defined. Adjust or clean burner if flame is yellow-orange.
7 For best results and energy conservation , choose cooking utensils that have these characteristics: Selecting Surface Cooking Utensils * Specialty pans such as lobster pots, griddles and pressure cookers may be used but must conform to the above recommended cookware requirements.
8 General Cleaning Cleaning Various Parts of Your Cooktop Before cleaning any part of the cooktop, be sure all controls are turned OFF and the cooktop is COOL. REMOVE SPILLOVERS AND HEAVY SOILING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. REGULAR CLEANINGS WILL REDUCE THE NUMBER OF MAJOR CLEANINGS LATER.
9 T o Clean the Cooktop The cooktop is designed to make cleaning easier. Because the four burners are sealed, cleanups are easy when spillovers are cleaned up immediately.
10 General Cleaning (continued) To Clean the Contoured Burner Pans The square burner pans are attached to the cooktop and are not removable. The burner pan forms a recessed well area located around each burner unit. If a spill occurs in one of the four well areas, blot up spill with an absorbent cloth.
11 A void Service Checklist POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION Surface control knob has not been completely turned to LITE. Push in and turn the surface control knob to LITE (until burner ignites) and then turn the surface control knob to the desired flame size.

6 Commandes des brûleurs de surface La couleur de la flamme est la clé d'un bon réglage. La flamme doit être transparente, bleue, et à peine visible dans une pièce bien éclairée. Le cône doit être uniforme, aux contours précis. Réglez ou nettoyez le brûleur si la flamme est jaune-orange.
7 Pour de meilleurs résultats de cuisson et pour conserver l’énergie, utiliser des ustensiles de cuisson qui possèdent les caractéristiques suivantes : Choix des ustensiles de cuisson de surface *BON • Fond de la casserole courbé ou tordu. • La casserole est plus petite ou plus grande que l’élément.
8 Nettoyage des diverses parties de votre table de cuisson Avant de nettoyer quelque partie de votre table de cuisson, assurez-vous que toutes les commandes sont tournées à «OFF» (ARRÊT) et qu'elle s'est refroidie. ENLEVEZ LES ÉCLABOUSSURES ET LES GROSSES TACHES DÈS QUE POSSIBLE.
9 Avant de nettoyer la table de cuisson, assurez-vous que les commandes sont à l' ARRÊT et que la surface est froide. Nettoyage du verre de la surface de cuisson La surface de cuisson est conçue pour faciliter le nettoyage.
