4 -EN Correct Handling Do not drop the disc while handling. Hold the disc so you will not leav e fingerprints on the surface. Do not af f ix tape, paper, or gummed labels to the disc. Do not write on the disc. Disc Cleaning Fingerprints, dust, or soil on the surface of the disc could cause the CD player to skip.
5 -EN On handling Compact Discs (CD/CD-R/CD-RW) • Do not touch the surface. • Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight. • Do not affix stickers or labels and do not write on the surf ace. •C lean the disc when it is dusty . •M ake sure that there are no b umps around the disc.
6 -EN Adjusting V olume Tu r n the Rotar y encoder until the desired sound is obtained. Vo lume : 0 ~ 35 Lowering V olume Quickly Acti vating the Audio Mute function will instantly lower the volume lev el by 20 dB. Press MUTE to activ ate the MUTE mode.
7 -EN XM Radio Receiving XM Channels XM Satellite Radio* is the next generation of audio entertainment, with up to 100 brand-new digital channels. F or a small monthly fee, subscribers can hear crystal-clear music, sports, news and talk, coast- to-coast via satellite.
8 -EN • Sear ch mode is canceled by pr essing and holding SEARCH/QS for at least 2 seconds in Channel Sear ch mode. • When “Setting the tuning method” is set to “CH NO” in the Channel Sear ch mode, the sear ch is performed in order of channel number .
9 -EN Automatic Memory of Station Presets 1 Press BAND/TEL. repeatedl y until the desired radio band is display ed. 2 Press and hold TUNE/A. ME for at least 2 seconds. The frequency on the display continues to change while the automatic memory is in progress.
10 -EN Repeat Play Press 4 ( ) to play bac k repeatedly the trac k being play ed. The track will be played repeatedly . Press 4 ( ) again and select OFF to deactivate r epeat play . RPT: Only a track is repeatedly pla yed bac k ↓ (off) M.I.X. (Random Play) Press 5 ( ) in the play or pause mode.
11 -EN Sound Setting Adjusting Balance (Between Left and Right)/ Fader (Between Front and Rear)/Defeat 1 Press MODE (Rotary encoder) repeatedly to c hoose the desired mode.
12 -EN Setting the T reble Control Y ou can change the Treble Frequenc y emphasis to create your own tonal preference. 1 Press CENTER f to select the T reble (treble center frequency) Contr ol mode . BASS → TREBLE → normal mode → BASS 2-1 Setting the treble Center frequency: Press g or f to select the desired treble center frequency .
13 -EN Other Functions Displaying the T itle/T ext It is possible to display the CD/Station title if the title has been previously inputted (“T itling Disc/Stations” page 14). If a CD text compatible CD changer is connected, text information, such as the disc name and the track name, will be displayed while playing a CD text compatible disc.
14 -EN T itling Discs/Stations It is possible to title your fa vorite CD's or radio stations. Y ou cannot input titles on MP3 discs (when an MP3 compatible CD changer is connected) and XM Radio Channel. 1 Press DISP/TITLE and select the Title Display .
15 -EN SETUP Y ou can flexibly customize the unit to suit your own preferences and usage. Choose the SETUP menu from General Customizing, External Device, to select your desired setting. The common operation for SETUP is step 1 to 4 as fo llows. See down below f or further information about each SETUP menu.
16 -EN Connecting to an External Amplifier PWR ON (Initial setting) / PWR OFF When an external amplif ier is connected, sound quality can be improved by stopping the po wer supply of the built-in amplif ier .
17 -EN Playing MP3 Files with the CD Changer (Optional) If you connect a changer compatible with MP3, you can play CD- R OMs, CD-Rs, and CD-R Ws containing MP3 files on this unit.
18 -EN • If M.I.X. is set to ON during RPT (REPEA T ALL) play in CD c hanger mode, M.I.X. will apply to the curr ent disc only . MP3 mode : ↓ M.I.X.: Only files in a f older are play ed back in r andom sequence. ↓ M.I.X.: All files in a disc are play ed back in random sequence, and pla yback shifts to the ne xt disc.
19 -EN MobileHub™ Link Operation(Optional) About MobileHub™ Link Connect a separately sold junction box and a portable telephone (av ailable from Nokia) to control the incoming and outgoing calls of the portable telephone. Caution Even with hands-fr ee operation, a driver can be distracted during telephone operation or r eceiving a call.
