8 Installation instructions Before y ou start Before starting to install the cooktop , make sure that: the cooktop has not been damaged during transport.
9 Installation instructions Electrical connection requirements This appliance must be connected to a 220-240 V 50 Hz power supply only and earthed via the power supply cable . In the United Kingdom, the suitably ear thed three -pin plug must be protected by a 3 A fuse .
10 Installation instructions F astening the cookt op to the bench This cooktop is suppled with fastening brackets (and scr ews) that will cope with a bench thickness of 20-50 mm. For benches thicker than 50 mm, rec ess the underside to a thickness of 20-50 mm.
11 Installation instructions Special requirements f or CG604DWFC and C G905DWFC models Gas connection to these cooktops MUST use the elbow supplied. Where a regulator is required to satisfy local market regulations, it must be c onnected to the elbow to prevent gas leakage.

14 Installation instructions Con verting to a different gas type Impor tant! Gas conv ersion may only be carried out by a suitably qualified and registered person. T o convert from one gas type to another , you need to r eplace the injectors and adjust the minimum burner setting.
15 Installation instructions Adjusting the minimum burner setting This has been adjusted at the factory for Natural gas but may need adjusting for local conditions. When con verting to LPG, the minimum setting MUST be re -adjusted for each burner . T o adjust the minimum setting, you will need a Ø 2.

18 Introduction About your new cookt op Thank you f or buying a Fisher & P aykel gas cooktop . Once it is installed and ready to use , you will want to know everything about it to make sure you get excellent r esults right from the start.
19 Control dials The dials control the flo w of gas through the valve. Using the burners Models with auto-reignition (C G905DW AC) 1 Press the selected burner’ s dial down gently and turn it anti- clockwise to HIGH. The ignitors on all the burners will spark.
20 Using y our cooktop If a burner does not light T urn the control dial to O ( OFF) and wait at least 1 minute before trying again. This is to allow the gas to disperse .
21 Using y our cooktop If there is a power failur e Models with auto-reignition (C G905DW AC) The gas supply will be cut off , even if a burner is in use.
22 Cooking guidelines and cookwar e Cooking guidelines Impor tant! Never leave the c ooktop unattended when in use. Boilover causes smoking and greasy spills that may ignite. T ake care when deep-frying: oil or fat can overheat v er y quickly , particularly on a high setting.
23 Cooking guidelines and cookwar e Using a wok Use your wok only on a w ok burner . On CG604DWFC and C G905DWFC models, a wok must alwa ys be used with the wok stand supplied.
24 Car e and cleaning What? How often? How? Impor tant! Stainless steel base After every use 1 Soak an y stubborn stains under a hot soapy cloth. 2 W ipe the soiling off with a cloth using a mild household detergent or stainless steel cleaner . 3 W ipe with a clean damp cloth.
25 Car e and cleaning What? How often? How? Impor tant! Burner parts, pan supports, wok stand As needed, but at least once a month 1 Remo ve the parts that you wish to clean. See the Figs . following for illustrations of removable burner parts. 2 Soak stubborn stains in a solution of biological clothes washing detergent.
26 Car e and cleaning Replacing the pan supports correctly CG905 models The wok support goes in the centre, o ver the wok burner . The other two pan supports are interchangeable, but need t o be rotated to match the r ounded corners of the cooktop base.

28 Car e and cleaning Brass wok burner ( CG905DW AC models only) Each part of the brass wok burner has locating pins to help you to assemble it correctly after cleaning. See F ig.23 below . Note: the brass parts of your wok burner will change colour with use.
29 T roubleshooting Problem P ossible solutions A burner does not light. Check that the cooktop is c onnected to the power supply and there is no power failur e. Check the gas supply valve is turned on and the supply to the house is working. Y ou should hear the gas when you turn a burner on.
30 T roubleshooting Problem P ossible solutions There is a po wer failure . Models with auto-reignition (CG905DW AC) The gas supply will be cut off , even if a burner is in use. The cooktop cannot be used if ther e is a power failure. Wait until power is rest ored.
31 W arranty and ser vice Before y ou call for service or assistance ... Check the things you can do yourself . Refer t o the installation instructions and your user guide and check that: 1 Y our product is correctly installed. 2 Y ou are familiar with its normal operation.
