A-5 DVS 406 • Appendix Firmware Upgrade Installation In some cases the DVS 406’s firmware may require replacement with an updated version. There are three user-replaceable firmware chips: U41 — the main microcontr oller , U56, and U57. The numbers are printed on the cir cuit board.

A-7 DVS 406 • Appendix Audio Card Installation The optional audio card may be installed in the scaler if it does not already have audio input/output. W e recommend that you send the unit in to Extron for service and updates. Changes to electronic components must be performed by authorized service personnel only.

Be sure to align the pins properly , in or der to prevent bending the pins, before pr essing the audio card firmly in place against the standoffs.
