DESCRIPTION LBI-39076 B 11 The Site Controller co mputer directs up to 16 levels of toll call restrictio ns, up to 15 r otary hunt sequences, 8 de- queuing priority levels, and inbound interconnect enable/disable assignm ents, for each ID num ber. It also accumu lates interconnect call activ ity data for the System Manager.

LBI-39076B INSTALLATION 14 1. RADIO SOFTWARE The 1st step to install the ELI option applies o nly to MDR fu ll-du plex radios. If you plan to u se this ty pe of radio with your EL I system, m ake sure each radio contains 344A4271Gx softwa re (w here x = 2 or hig her).

LBI-39076B INSTALLATION 16 You may use some other method. However, using the method described here assures that the supp lied cables will be the correct length and the PCM/Data Bus will be as short as possible. (The PCM/Data Bus mu st not exceed 120 feet in length).

IAM CONNECTIONS The 12th step needed to install the ELI op tion app lies only if an IA M was supplied. All connectio ns to the IAM are m ade to connectors on the rear panel, as show n in Figure 36.

CONFIGURATION LBI-39076 B 29 CONFIGURATION OVERVIEW The user configurable parameters for the ELI option reside in two locations: the Site Controller computer’s database and the GT I units’ d atabase. T h e configuration of these two databases is covered in this section.
LBI-39076B CONFIGURATION 30 Similarly , other interconnect timing parameters may need upward adjustment. In addition to the dial to ne detect duration, the following parameters m ay require changes: pulse digit delay base, pulse digit delay increment, DTMF digit delay, DTMF digit detect duration, an d line dropping duration.
CONFIGURATION LBI-39076 B 31 • Line Active - This colum n of parame ters defin es (for the site) if a line is available for interconnect calls. Default is no (N) for all lines. Enter Y for yes, or leave N for no. Note that a line number gets its number from the radio chann el num ber that shares the same GTI Unit.

LBI-39076B OPERATION 38 • Radio-originated call - a call from a radio using an EDACS repea ter site, through a telepho ne line connected to that EDA CS repeater site, to a telephone. • Line-connected GTI - the GTI unit connected to the telephone line for the interconnect call being described.
OPERATION LBI-39076 B 39 IDENTIFYING CALLED ID 13. T he channel-term inating GTI detects the first DTMF digit, momentarily lights the “DTMF DET ECTED” red LED on the front panel, and reports the digit to the Site Controller.

LBI-39076B OPERATION 42 If the Dial Tone Required field is set to Y in the System Configuratio n of the GTI Configurato r, then the absence of dial tone, f or wh atever line ty pe (E&M or End-to-End), will cause the Site Controller to initiate a rotary hunt to get an available telephone line.
