Using Optional Equipment 35 Removing the Shipping Screws To prevent dama ge during shi pping, two shi pping scre ws are att ached to the transp arency unit t o secure its lam p assemb ly. Yo u must remove these screws before using the t ranspare ncy unit.
36 Transparen cy Unit 4. Align the transpar ency unit’s pins with the h ole s in the scanner and lowe r the unit until it rests securely. 5. Insert the guide pin an d adjust pin that ca me with th e transp arency unit in to the screw holes. Ma ke sure th e adjust pin’s arrow faces directly to wards the center of th e guide pi n.

Place the 4 × 5-inch film guide on a flat surfa ce and remo ve the cove r from on e of the fil m holde rs. 2. Insert the film in the film holder, making sure the glossy (smooth) side of the film faces down and the film emulsion layer faces up.

Place the film dire ctly on the document table making sure the glossy (smooth) side of the fil m faces down. If the refle ctive document mat is installe d in the trans parency uni t, remove it.

Make sure yo ur scanner is turned off and unplug t he cables. 2. Remove your scan ner’s documen t cover by grasping the back of the cover as sho wn and easi ng the cover up.
