General produ ct information 3 2.0 G ENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION The Liebert XDCF ™ is a self-contained module designed to cool Egenera’s BladeFra me EX cabinets and equipment without exhausting heat into the room. Liebert XDCF modules consist o f a sheet-metal frame, coil and filter dryer.

Do not remove the packaging from the Liebert XDCF before it is at the installation location. • When unpacking and handling t he Liebert XDCF, ca re should be taken to prevent damaging the coils.
Mechanical Considerations 6 3.0 M ECHANICAL C ONSIDERATIONS The Liebert XDCF is engineered to fit on the rear of the Egenera BladeFrame enclosure. Figure 5 , below, illustrate s the unit’s dimensions and the location of p ipes. Figure 6 shows the attachment positions of each module.

Installation 8 4.3 Mounting Lower Liebert XDCF Module The lower Liebert XDCF module attaches to the E genera BladeF rame cabinet with a mounting bracket, four bolts and a metal stud.

Piping Connections and Piping Ac cess Points 14 5.3 Recommended Piping Size Connect the main pipes between the Liebert XDCF branch piping and th e Liebert XDP or Lieb ert XDC according to Table 1 . Elbows and restrictions must be minimized to get good fluid flow.

Maintenance 19 7.0 M AINTENANCE Minimal maintenance is required to keep the Liebert XDCF operat ing at optimal le vels. The unit should be cleaned and checked for da mage. Suggested main tenance includes: • Cooling fins—Clean any dust and debris from the coolin g fins, taking care not to bend them.
