10 2. Hardware Installation 1. Connect the ADSL l ine. Connect the line p ort of the router of the device t o the mode m interface of a splitter using a telephone cable. Connect a telephon e to the Phone i nterface of the splitter usi ng a telephone cabl e.
11 3. Connect the power adap ter to the r outer. Plug one end of the power adapter into a wall outlet and connect the other end to the 12 V interface of the devic e.
12 Configuration 2 0 sho ws the correct connection when a telephone set is installed before the splitter. Figure 2 - Connecti on diagram (Connecting a telephone set b efore the spl itter) Note : When Configurati on 2 is used, the filt er must be installed close to the telephone cable.
13 5. Firewall settings. Please turn off all personal fi rewalls before you con tinue the setup – firewall s can block communi cation between your PC and router. Note: You must us e the power adapter included in t he package wit h the router, do NOT att empt to use a third -party power ad apter.
14 3. Locate the “Network C onnections” i con and doubl e-click to open network connection sett ings. 4. Select the “Local Area Connection” icon and rig ht-click it to open t he sub-menu, then sel ect “Properties” .

IP Address Setting To use the router t o access the In ternet, the PCs in the n etwork must have an Ethernet adapter inst alled and b e connected to th e router either directly or through a hub or s witch. The TCP/IP protoc ol of each PC must be i nstalled and the IP Address of e ach PC has to be s et in the same subnet a s the router.
18 2. C lick the Network icon and then select Op en Network a nd Sharing Center to open th e Network and Sh aring Center win dow. 3. Cl ick Ethernet to o pen the Et hernet S tatus w indow , and then select Properties . The Local Area Con nection window will appe ar.

In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TC P/IP v4 ) Prope rties window, select Obtain an IP a ddress automatically and Obtai n DNS server address automatically as shown on the foll owing screen. 5. Click OK to confirm the sett ing. Your PC wi ll now obtai n an IP address automatically from your r outer’s D HCP server.

24 4. EZmax Setup W izard You can confi gure the router by run ning the setup wizard on the CD -ROM included in the package contents. Th e wizard enables you to configu re your Internet co nnection, upgrade the firmware and chang e the router’s password.
