21 2-4 Using “ Quick Set up ” This broadband router’s “Quick Setup” allows you to set up b asic parameters in a few simple steps. The following instructions il lustrate how to use the “Quic k Setup” m enu: 1. Click “Quick Setup” after loggin g in.

37 2- 5 Using “iQoS” iQoS is Edimax’s an swer to the n eed for a qu ick and easy way to man age internet bandwidth . It’s intuitive and friendly user in terface allows you to arrange your ban dwidth priorities in a few simple steps. 1. First, click “iQoS” to ac cess the iQoS user interface .
38 4. When the speed test is complete, click “Done” and the results will be filled in automatically. Note: If this b andwidth d etection function is not op erating correctly, please perform the te st with the bandwidth testing sites listed on the bottom right and enter th e test results manu ally.
39 6. After you have arranged your application prioritie s, click th e “Apply” button to enable it. Th e icons will be shown in the order of your p reference after the devic e has restarted.
40 CHAPTER III: GENERAL SE TUP You can p erform advanced configuration of this broadban d router in “ General Setup ” . 1. Click “ General Setup ” after logging in. 2. All availab le setup ite ms will appear u nder the “ General Setup ” tab.
41 3-1 System You can set up basic system sett ings under “ System ” . You can c onfigure your time zone , password, and rem ote management setting s here.
42 3-1-1 Time Zone You can c onfigure the time zone settings here. Item Name Description Set Time Zone Please select the time zone of your country or region. If you cannot find your country/region, please select a no ther country/region whose time zone is the same as yours.

45 3-2 WAN You can set up your Inte rnet or WAN (Wide Area Network) connec tion under “ WAN ” . Select a conn ection type and proceed with the setup ; then click “ Apply ” to save the changes. 63 3-3-3 Static DHCP Le as es You can set the router to assign a static IP address to spec ified compu ters/devices under “ Static DHCP Leases ” . Item Name Description Enable Static DHCP Leases Check this box to enable the function. MAC Address Input the specified computer ’ s MAC address here.

65 3-4 Wireless You can set up your Wi-Fi under “ Wireless ” . 3-4-1 Wireless Set tings Basic wireless sett ings can be configured here. Item Name Description Band Select from one of the following options: 2.4 GHz (B): Allows 802.11b wireless net work clien ts to connect to this router (ma ximum transfer rate 11Mbps).
66 2.4 GHz (G): Allows 802.11g wireles s network clients to connect to this router (maximum transfer rate 54 Mbps). 2.4GHz (B+G+ N): Allows 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11 n wireless clie nts to connec t to this router (recommen ded). ESSID This is the name of your router.
67 3-4-2 Security Settin gs Advanced sec urity settings are available in certain modes to enhanc e connection security. 3-4-2-1 Disabled Connection encryption is disabled under this mode ( not recommended ). 3-4-2- 2 WEP Selecting “ WEP ” enable s WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy ) en cryption.
68 Authentic ation function. You n eed a RADIUS server to per form 802.1x authentic ation. RADIUS Server IP ad dress Input the RADIUS server ’ s IP address here . RADIUS Server Port Input the RADIUS server port here. Gen erally , it is “ 1812 ” .
69 3-4-2-3 WPA P re -Shared K ey WPA (Wi- Fi Prote cted Acc ess) is a safer encryption mode than WEP (recommend ed). Item Name Description WPA Unicast Cipher Suite Please select a WPA cipher suite supported by your wireless client. Ava ilable options are “ WPA ( TKIP) ” , “ WPA2 (AES) ” , an d “ WPA2 Mixed ” .
70 3-4-2- 4 WPA RADIUS If you have a RADIUS server on your local n etwork, you can authenticate wireless clients via th e RADIUS server ’ s user datab ase. Item Name Description WPA Unicast Cipher Suite Please select a WPA cipher suite supported by your wireless client.

73 3-4-4 WPS ( Wi- Fi Protected Setup) Set t ings WPS (Wi- Fi Prote cted Setup ) is a convenient way to estab lish a secure c onnection between th is broadband router and WPS-compatible wireless c lients. Item Name Description Enable WP S Check this box to enable the WPS function.
74 3-5 Advance Sett ings You can configure such advan ced networking functions like QoS , DDNS, port forwarding , and DMZ un der “ Advanced Setting s ” .
75 3-5-1 QoS Quality of service provides an efficient way for computers on the network to share the internet b andwidth with a promised quality of internet service .
76 Rule Name Input a name for this QoS rule for identification purpose. This nam e should be un ique and not the same with others. Bandwidth Set the spe ed limitation for this QoS ru le: (1 ) (2) (3) .

81 3-5-3 Port Forwa rding This function allows y ou to redirect a single port or c onsecutive p orts of Internet I P address to th e same port of the IP address on local network. The port number(s) of Internet IP address an d private I P address (the I P address on local n etwork) must b e the same.
82 If you want to d elete a specific port forwarding entry, chec k the ‘select’ box of the p ort forwarding entry you want to delete, then click ‘Delete Selected’ bu tton.
83 3-5-4 DMZ Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a spec ial area in your local network. This area resides in local network, and all compu ters in this area uses p rivate IP address, too. But th ese private IP addresses are mapped to a certain Internet IP address, so other people on Internet ca n fully access th ose computers in DMZ.
84 If you want to d elete a specific DMZ entry, ch eck the ‘sele ct’ box of the DMZ e ntry you w ant to delete , then click ‘De lete Selected’ button.

87 3-6 NAT Ne twork ad dress translations s ol ve the problem if sharin g a single I P address to multiple c omputers. Without NAT, all c ompu ters must be assigned with a valid Internet IP address to get connected to Internet, but Inte rnet service p roviders only provide ver y f ew IP addresses to e very user.

Without ALG supp ort, these applications will not be able to commun icate with their server whe n working with BR -6675nD b roadband route r.
93 3-6-5 Static Rou ting In most c ases, all your comp uters on local net work will use default gateway (generally provided by your ISP) to acc ess servers on Interne t.

96 Comment You can input any text here as the comment of this MAC address, like ‘ROOM 2A Compute r’ or anything. You can input up to 16 alph anumerical characters here. This is optional and you can leave it blan k, however, it’s recom mended to use this field to write a comment for every MAC addresses as a memory aid.

101 3-7-3 DoS Denial of Service (DoS) is a comm on attack measu re, by transmitting a great amount of data or requ est to your Inte rnet IP address and server, the Internet connection will become very slow, and server may stop responding because it is not capable to handle too much traffics.
102 IP address. Sync Flood This is another k ind of attack, which uses a lot of fake connec tion request to c onsume the memory of your se rver, and try to make your server become unusable. Ch eck this box and the router will filte r this kin d of traffic out.
