Engl ish Quick Star t Guide F ollow these steps to install the LabelW rit er printer and prin t yo ur first label. 1. Unpacking your LabelW riter Prin ter NO TE D o not plug the printer into your c omputer until asked to do so during the soft w are installation.
2 Y our LabelWrit er printer is a ther mal printer and does not use to ner or ink car tridges. Instead, it uses heat from a thermal print head to print on specially treated labels. Labels are the only supplie s y ou will ever need to buy . Become familiar with the printe r ’ s m ajor c omponen ts.
3 2. Installing the Sof twar e NO TE D o not connect the print er to your computer until instructed to do so during the soft w are installation. T o install the soft war e on a W indow s system 1 In ser t th e LabelWrite r CD i nto your CD -R OM dri ve .

T o connect the pow er 1 Plug the power cor d into the powe r adapter . See F igur e 4. 2 Plug th e power adap ter into th e power connec tor on the back of the printer .
5 4. Loading Labels The LabelW riter Duo printer prints two type s of labels: die -cut paper labe ls (such as Addr ess or D YMO Stamps ™ P ostage labe ls) and D1 label casset t es. T o load die - cut labels 1 Pr ess the form-f eed button to eject the labels that prot ected the printer during shipment.
6 7 Align the l eft edge of the l abel with the lef t edge of the label f eed slot and inse r t the label into the slot. See Fi g ur e 1 0 . The printer f eeds the labels, st opping at the beginning of the first label. If the prin ter does not feed the labels, make sur e the first label is fu lly inser t ed and then pre ss the form-f eed button.
7 3 Inser t the cassette and pre ss firmly until it clicks into plac e. Make sur e label and ribbon are positioned correctly . See F igure 12. 4 Pr ess the button t o close the label cassette tray .
