10 Local networking T o use the Ethernet port(s) you need at lea st: One PC with a n Ethernet Card installed. TCP/IP protocol suite For TCP/IP , your PC ca n set either static IP or DHCP to ask IP from router . The default gateway of router is 192.168.

12 Install ‘ Router T ools ‘ This tool which provides ‘Quick StartW izard’, ‘Firmware Upgra de Progra m ’ a nd ‘Syslog Monitor’ client is in the atta ched CD. It supportsWindows, M a c OS 8/9 a nd M a c OS X. T urn on your router Once all previous steps are completed, turn on your router .
13 Once pa st the pa ssword prompt, you will now see the router’s main menu: (Exa mple: V igor2500) Enter Router Menu Set DSL Parameters Click on ‘Internet Access Setup’ on the right-ha nd menu. Y ou will find two items : PPPoE/PPPoA a nd MPoA (RFC 1483/2684).
14 For PPPoE/PPPoA Users Enter your allocated userna me, password a nd DSL para meters a ccording to the information provided by your ISP . If you wa nt to connect to Internet all the time, you ca n check ‘Always On’.
15 Auto detect A TM/ DSL Setting Y ou ca n also use this function to detect A TM/ DSL setting. Plea se follow the instructions to operate. If your country is not in the list, it may take longer ti me to detect. Surfing Internet Once all previous steps are completed, you ca n surf Internet now .
16 Wireless LAN Interfa ce The V igor2500W e a nd V igor2500Wt are equi pped with a wireless LAN interfa ce compli a nt with the 11 Mbps IEEE 802.1 1b protocol.
17 WEP Security of Wireless LAN Interfa ce SSID(Service Set Identification): Y ou should set the SSID sa me as your note book wirele ss card to allow the client PCs to a ccess the network vi a the wireless LAN interfa ce. The default SSID is "default".
18 Access Control of Wireless LAN Interfa ce For a dditional security of wireless access, the Access Control allows your to restrict the network a ccess rights by the wireless LAN MAC a ddress of client. Only the valid MAC a ddress which ha s been configured ca n allow to a ccess the wireless LAN interfa ce.
19 T r ouble Shooting for Ca n not get on to the Internet Check if the hardware is OK? Check if the power a nd LAN line are connected correctly . After power is on, the ‘ AC T ‘ LED will blink once a second, a nd the correspondent LAN port will light.

25 Are DSL/ ISP settings Ok? Connect to router W eb Configurator . (Exa mple: V igor2500) Check if the setting of DSL is ok. (For MPoA users, plea se refer to the MPoA expla nation on page 24 ) —> VPI/VCI/Modulation mode: T1.

27 For MPoA (RFC1483/2684) mode users, plea se check if the W AN IP/ Gate- way/ Na me ma sk is set or ISP requires you to use DHCP client to get W AN IP .
