Chapter 1: Familiar w ith your Internet IP Camera 1.1 Packa ge Cont ents Before you start to use this network cam era, please check the package contents. If anything is missing, pleas e contact the dealer of purchase and return the package to claim for m issing contents.
1.2 Basic I ntrodu ction Thank you for purchasing Con nectSky™600W Wireless MPEG4 Network Camera! This network camera A IC600W is an ideal product f or all kinds of video-surveillance purposes, like home/office safety , kid/pet monitoring, an d remote video acquire etc.
1.3 Produ ct Highlight s • No pre-loaded software required - all you need is a browser like Intern et Explorer 6 (and above, with plugin installed). • Supports VGA (640 x 480), QV GA (320 x 240), and QQVGA (160 x 120) video resolution. • Supports two video compression f ormat (MJPEG and MPEG4).

1.5 Came ra Inst allation Please follow the following instr uctions to set up your IP camer a. Step 1 C onnect the po wer adapter to the Inte rnet Camera and plug the power adapter to power outlet . W hen the came ra is r eady , t he Power LED will be lit.
Step 2B Connect the Internet Camer a to your network b y attached the network cable from t he switch/router to the LAN port of the Internet Camer a. Step 3 Insert the provided CD i nto y our computer’s CD R O M drive. T he “autorun.exe” program should be exe cuted automatically.
Step 5 Follow the on s creen instructions to in stall the Setup W izard. Step 6 After the installation finished, the ConnectSky™ Setup W izard will launch up. If not, double click on the ic on on your desktop: Step 7 Click o n Search Camera to show the camera(s) connected to your network.
Step 8 S elect the cam era you wish to view/configure and click Brow se Camera via We b . Note: By default, AI C600W uses dynamic IP address. If there is no DHCP server in your network or you prefer to use static IP address, you may click Configu re Camera to change the IP settings.
Step 10 Cl ick on Install to install th e plug-in for the camera. Step 1 1 Click on the w hite box to install ActiveX control in o rder to view the camera image.
Note: If you di d S tep 2A , your camera has connected to you w ireles s network a l ready , and you do not need an y further configuration t o start using your camera. If you did Step 2B , please continue the following steps to configure t he wireless settings.
Chapter 2: Using W eb Ma nagement Interface 2.1 Came ra Set tings The first menu afte r you logged onto web man ageme nt interface is ‘Camera’, and this is the only menu you can s ee the real-time image f rom camera. Y ou can always back t o this menu by clicking ‘Camera’ on the top of web management interface.
The descriptions of every setting in this menu will be given below: Item Description Video Format S pecif ies video encoding f ormat. Y ou can choose MPEG4 or MJPEG (Motion-JPEG). MPEG4 mode also su pports motion detection (see cha pter 2.2.1). Snapshot T ake a snap s hot picture and save the pictur e to your computer ’s hard drive.
2.1.1 Ab out This fun ction will provide you with the versio n number of curren t IP camera plug in, which is u seful when y o u need online support. T o see ve rs ion information, rig ht-click on the im age.
2.2 LAN S etti ngs All network-related s ettings can be found in this m enu, and you have to specify TCP/IP para meters in t his menu if you want to change IP address, use PPPoE, Dynamic DNS, and act ivate UPnP function. Y ou can access this m enu by clicking ‘LAN’ on the t op of web management int erface.
The descriptions of every setting in this menu will be given below: Item Description Network T ype Th is cam era can obtain the IP address from DHCP server automatically (i.e. Router), or set a fixed IP address. Select ‘DHCP’ to obtain IP address automatically or ‘S tatic IP Address’ to assign this IP camera with a fixed IP address.
2.2.2 RTSP RTSP (Real-T ime S treaming Protocol) allows yo u to vie w live video capt ured by IP camera. Y ou can set RTSP related settings h ere. The descriptions of every setting in this menu will be given below: Item Description Enable RTSP Sele ct ‘E nable’ to activate RTSP f unction of this IP camera, select ‘Disable’ to disa ble it.
2.2.3 Dynamic DNS If your ISP does not give you a fixed Internet I P addre ss ( i.e. the Internet ad dress you’re using when you access the Internet is not a lways the same – ask your ISP for detailed information), you can use this f unction to help you locate th e IP address of this IP camera when you’re away from home or office.
2.2.4 UPnP W hen UPnP function is activated, all UPnP-com p atib le computers / network devic es will be able to discover this IP camera automatically (only those in the s ame local network). This function is useful and you don’t have to remember the IP address of this IP camera.
Click the message to open ‘My Network Place s’, and you’ll see the I P camera: Y ou can double-click the icon to launch Internet Explor er and log onto IP camera’s web management interf ace directly .
2.2.5 LoginFree Y ou can specify a file na me here, and everyone who kn ow this file name can ga in access to the picture captu red by the IP camer a with this n ame with .jpg file ex tension. For e xample, if the filena me you specified h ere is ‘log infree’ and your IP came ra’s IP add ress is ‘1 92.
2.3 WLAN If you wish to use wirel ess network instead of wired n etwork connection, you h ave to set wireless LAN parameters here. Y ou can access this m enu by clicking ‘ W LAN’ on the to p of web management interface.
The descriptions of every setting in this menu will be given below: Item Description Self PinCode A random 8-digit code will be displa yed here. I f the wireless AP you wish to connect supports PINCODE, please input this code to the AP you wish to c onnect.
Connect: Y ou can select the wireless access point you wish to connect here.** SSID: the SS ID of all found wireless access points will be shown here. Some wireless access point may hide th eir SSID, in this case, you have to identify them by their MAC address.
1Mbps to 54Mbps. Maximum transfer rate for 802.1 1b wireless network is 1 1Mbps, and maximum transfer rate for 802.1 1g wireless network is 54Mbps. It’s reco mm ended to select ‘ Auto ’, so the data transfer rate will vary (up to 150Mbps) according to th e actual signal strength and quality .
If the key length is 64-bit, you should input 10 HEX characte rs or 5 ASCII characters, like 1 12233aab b (HEX) or MYWE P (ASCII). If the key length is 128-bit, you sh ould input 26 HEX characte rs or 13 ASCII characters, like 1 1223344 556677889900abcdef (HEX) or myweppassword (ASC II).
2.4 V ideo Y ou can specify the video and aud io parameters of th is IP camera here..
2.4.1 Dual Mode This IP camera suppo rts two video enco ding fo rmats: MPEG4 an d MJPEG . Y ou can select the e ncod ing forma t from on e of them . 2.4.2 MPEG4 If you sel ected ‘MPEG4’ as the video e ncoding format o f this IP camera , you can specify the pa rameters of MPEG4 vide o encode r here. 2.4.3 MJPEG If you sel ected ‘MJPEG’ as the video e ncod ing format o f this IP camera , you can specify the pa rameters of MPEG4 vide o encode r here. 2.5 Email & FTP This IP camera is capable to send an Email or perform FTP upload with captured image, when a motion is detected. Th is is v ery convenient since IP camera will guard the environment autom atically for you, and you d on’t have to look at the m onitor all the time.
SMTP Server Input the IP address or host name of the SMTP server (the server that delivers th e Email for you) here. If you don’t know , please ref er to the SMTP server you’re using in your Email software (i.e. Microsoft Outloo k), or ask your network administrator or ISP .

FTP Port Input the port number of the FTP server you wish to use here. User Name Input the user name of the FTP server you wish to use here.
2.6 Mot ion Detec tion 2.6.1 Basic Settings Motion detection f unction makes this IP camera become your n on-stop guard. Y ou don’t have to waste tim e monitoring the image s from the camera, yet it will detect all motions for you. Once motion is detected, a c aptured image will be sent t o you by Email or via FTP .

2.7 Sche dule Sn apshot This menu allows you to sch edule taking snapsho ts, upload th em to FTP and/or s end to your email address. Y ou can access this m enu by clicking ‘System ’ on the top of web manageme nt interface. Item Description Enable FTP Schedule Select ‘Enable’ or ‘Dis able’ to enable or disable FTP uploading schedule.
2.8 Syst em The system menu allows you to set some syst em-specific parameters, like password and time setting. Y ou can also upgrade the f irmware of this IP camera, to make new functions available on this IP camera. Y ou may also clear all settings or reboot the IP camera here.
Password Please specif y the administrator ’s pa ss word here. (The one you need when you lo g onto web management interf ace and use ‘admin’ as user n ame. Confirm Password Please in put the same password again, to make s ure ther e’ s no typo.
NTP Server Please input the IP address or host nam e of NTP server here. Y ou can use default va lue ‘pool.ntp.org’, or as k your ISP for the IP address or host name, if they have one. Enable Daylight Saving T im e Select ‘Y es’ if your area of residence uses daylight saving; if not, select ‘No’.
also. Y ou’ll need to ch ange the IP address setting of your computer if the IP addr ess of your computer does not be gin with ‘192.168.2 ’, and subnet mask is not ‘255. 255.255.0’, or you’ll not be able to conn ect to this IP camera again.
2.9 S tat us This menu provides all information about t his IP camera, like firmware version, system uptime, date / t ime, and network inform ation. Y ou can access this m enu by clicking ‘S tatus’ on the top of web management interface.
2.10 Account If you wish to allow other people to view the im age captured by this camera, but don’t want to allow them to m odify system settings, you can give them user-l evel user name and password, so they can only v iew the image and can not change any system setting.
The descriptions of every setting in this menu will be given below: Item Description Login S pecif y the user name here. P lease use alphanumerica l characters (0 to 9, A to Z , and a to z). Not using s ymbols and space . Password S pecify the password for this user here.
2.1 1 Log All activities of t his IP c amera will be l ogged, and you an d enter ‘Log’ menu to vie w these logs. Y ou can access this m enu by clicking ‘Log’ on the t op of web mana gement interface.
Chapter 3: ConnectSk y™ V ie we r 3.1 Soft ware Inst allation The ConnectSk y™ V iewer provid es various functions l ike video recor ding, after this software is insta ll ed, you can use your IP camera to safegu ard your property . Please follow the instructions below to install the software.
S tep 3 C lick ‘Next’ t o continue. Please f ollow the on screen instructions t o finish the insta ll ation. Step 4 Please click ‘Finish’ to finish the procedu re (ConnectSky™ Viewer will start after you click ‘Finish’ button, if you want to st art it later, uncheck ‘Launch IPC am Surveillance Sof tware’ box).
3.2 Using C onn ectSky™ V ie wer Y ou can click ‘Connect Sk y™ V iewer ’ icon from desktop, quick launch bar , or start menu to start the ConnectSky™ Viewer . Here are descriptions f or all components of ConnectSky™ Viewer: Before you start: ConnectSky™ V i ewer will only work when your monitor ’s resolution is ‘1024 x 768’.

Language Select a language f rom this dropdown menu to change display language.

3.3 Configu ring Co nnectSky ™ V iewer 3.3.1 Configure Cameras Before you use this C onnectSky™ Viewer , you must configure the camera(s) you wish to connect.
3.3 .1.1 ‘Camera ’ tab In this tab you can configure all cameras you wish to connect. Up to 16 cameras can be connected simultaneously: T o add a cam era into monitor list, 1) Select a Ch annel 2) Click a C amera from the Camera Search list 3) Click Sel ect Repeat S tep 1 to 3 if you have mor e than one cameras to ad d.
‘Camera Search’ box. Select Select a camera listed in ‘Camera Search ’ box, and click ‘Select’ button to f ill all parameters of selected camera in ever y camera configuration f ields.

3-3 -1-2 Schedule Rec ording In this tab, you can setup scheduled video r ecording, so you can r ecord the video captured by all camer as you have by a pre-def ined schedule. Here are the descripti ons of all setting items: Item Description Channel Select the channel num ber you wish to set.
Please specify the time d uration of this one-time sche dule (the date a nd time o f ‘Fro m’ and ‘T o’), then click ‘ OK’ to save settings. Please note you must set a schedule that will be happ ened in the future, you can not set a sched ule in the past.
Click ‘OK’ to save cha nges. Edit Y ou can modify a sc heduled recordi ng it em. Select a schedule i n ‘One T ime S chedules’ list, and click ‘Edit ’ button to edit the start and end time of this schedule. Delete Delete a selected schedule item .
3.3 .1.4 Motion R ecord W ith th is function activated, only motions captured by t he camera will be recor ded, so you will not waste extra har d disk space on storing images you don’t need to pay attention to. Here are the descripti ons of all setting items: Item Description Channel Select the channel num ber you wish to set.
Invoke alarm when motion is triggered Send an alarm when a motion has been dete cted by the camera. Send mail when motion is triggered Send an email to a pre-def ined address when a m otion has been detected by the cam era. Motion Detection Config Y ou can conf igure certa in area you wish to m onitor once any motion happened.
3.3.2 General Settings Y ou can set system-wi de settings of this Co nnectSky™ Viewer in this menu. 3.3 .2.1 Genera l All general settings like file storage directory a nd recording spaces can be set here.
Scan T ime Def ine the time period to pause between every camera s witch when you activate ‘Sca n’ function. Cycle Recording Y ou can decide the behavior when hard disk space is full: Disable: Do not over write recorded video fi les. Enable: Overwrite r ecorded video files.
Address New Click this button and you’ll be prompted to input the email address. Click ‘OK’ to save c hanges. Edit Select an email address f rom ‘Recipient E-Mail Ad dress’ box, and click ‘Edit’ to edit t he email address. Delete Delete selected email address.
3.3 .2.3 Secur ity T o prevent othe r people accessing C onnectSk y™ V iewer , you can set a password to protect it. 3.4 Cha nge Dis play Layo ut This ConnectSky™ Viewer provides 8 kinds of display layout: Every layout displays d iffere nt num ber of camera a nd camera arrangement, you can click the icon that presents a specific kind of layout, and the video displaying area will change accordingly .
Layout style 3: 6 Cameras Displays the video of up to 6 cameras. Layout style 4: 8 Cameras Displays the video of up to 8 cameras. Layout style 5: 9 Cameras Displays the video of up to 9 cameras. Layout style 6: 10 Cameras Displays the video of up to 10 cameras.
Layout style 7: 1 3 Cameras Displays the video of up to 13 cameras. Layout style 8: 1 6 Cameras Displays the video of up to 16 cameras..
3.5 Full-scr een mode If you want to use all availab le space s on your monitor t o display surveillance im age, you can click ‘Full Screen’ button to switch dis play mode to full-screen mode.
3.6 Scan If you have more than on e camera configured, and you wish to switch the displaying image between cameras, you can click ‘Scan’ button to s witch between all configured cameras. Click ‘Scan’ button onc e to activate scan f unction (scan icon will bec ome blue ), click again to stop scanning (sca n icon will become white ).
3.7 Snaps hot Y ou can take a snapshot of selected camera and save it to ‘Sn apshot’ sub-folder of pre-defined data directory . Click snapshot button once to take a snapshot; you can take as much snapshot as you want before hard d isk is full.
3.8 Recor ding Y ou can start video recording of select ed camera manuall y by clicking ‘S tar t Recording’ button: W hen recording starts, you’ll see a message displayed in messag e displaying box like ‘1/1 10:00:00, Camera 2 S tart Manual’, which m eans camera 1 start s recordin g manually on 1/1 at 10:00: 00.
3.9 V ideo Play back Y ou can playback all recorded video by clicki ng this button. A new wind ow will appear: Y ou have to search t he video file before you c an play it.
