3 Introduction Thank you for choo sing the D-Link DG E-500SX Giga-Ethe r adapter for PCI Bu s-equipped person al compute rs. The DGE-500SX is ideal fo r speedin g up data transfe rs for netw ork servers and other computers , such a s thos e used for video-conferencing, that send and/or receive large amounts o f data.

6 Installation Unpacking CAUTION: Under ordinary circum stances, a DGE-500SX card will not be affected by static charge as m ay be received through your body during handling of the unit. However, there are special circumstances where you may carry an extraordinarily high static charge, and possibly damage the card and/or your com puter.

11 T roubleshooting If you experience any problems with t he adapter, fi rst confir m that t he appropriat e driver is loaded; tha t the proper gra de of cable i s employed for th e network connection; and that the switch it is conn ected to is pr operly qualif ied for the ap plication (such as 1000BASE- SX).
