19 Do not cook directly on the hob surface without a cook ing utensil, as this will result in damage to the surface of the hob . Do not use the hob as a worktop surface as damage may occur to the smooth sur face of the hob . Do not drag or slide utensils on the hob surface, as this will cause scratches in the surface of the hob.
20 IMPORT ANT – As with any cooking appliance there could be some fire risk attached to the heating of oil, particularly for deep fat frying, c ook ing utensils containing oil must not be left unattended (e.g . to answer the telephone) on or in close proximity to the cooking areas.
Below are some guidelines to help you make the right choice of utensils. T o obtain a satisfac tory per formance from a ceramic hob and t o avoid unnec essar y damage, we recommend the use of good quality utensils with smooth flat bases. 1. Purchasing a new pan will not necessarily mean it will have a flat base, always check befor e buying.
Choosing Y our Utensils 22 Do not use utensils with rough bases . Do not use lightweigh t utensils with thin, distorted or uneven bases. Do not use lightweigh t enamelled steel utensils. Do not use cast iron utensils . Do not use utensils with rec essed, scrolled or ridged bases.
Grill P an and Handle 23 Grill pan handle The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan, to facilitate cleaning and storage. The handle can be either detachable from or fixed t o the pan.

“SL OW” setting (F AN OVEN only) This is used for slow c ook ing, keeping food warm and warming plates for short periods. Ex tra care should be taken when warming bone china, as i t may be damaged in a hot oven. Adv antages of “SL OW” cooking are: The oven sta ys cleaner because there is less splashing.
1. Plastic or nylon pads 2. Household abrasive powders and sc ourers. These may scratch the surface. 3. Oven chemical cleaners, aerosols and o ven pads. Caustic cleaners such as these will etch the surface and attack the metal frame. 4. Bath and sink cleaners may mark the sur face.
Car e and Cleaning 38 Cer amic hotplates Clean your Creda C eramic hob top regularly and avoid repeated burning of encrusted contamination. Y our choice of cleaner will depend on the degree of soiling involv ed (see below).
It is advisable to clean the decorative trims regularly to prev ent any build up of soiling which may detract from the appearance of the cooker . The recommended method of cleaning is to wipe over the trims with a soft cloth wrung out in warm water or mild non-abrasive cleaner .
Remove the grill pan, Easy Glide TM Shelf , rod shelf and the wire grid food suppor t, it is best to wash these items immediately after use to prev ent stains from being burnt on when used again.
Car e and Cleaning 41 Take particular care not to damage the inner sur face of the door inner glass that is c oated with a heat reflective la yer . Do not use scouring pads, or abrasi ve pow der , which will scratch the glass . Ensure that the glass panel is not subjected to any sharp mechanical blows.
