4 IMPOR T ANT F A CTS Y our furnace must have adequate airflow for ef ficient combustion and safe ventilation. Do not enclose it in an airtight room or “seal” it behind solid doors.
5 4 • If a suspected malfunction occurs with your oil control system, such as the burner not lighting when it should, refer to the “Shutting Down Y our Furnace” section and call your dealer as soon as possible. CHECK AIR FILTERS: Before attempting to start your furnace, be sure the furnace air fi lters are clean and in place.
6 SHUTTING DOWN Y OUR FURNACE Should you need to shut down your furnace for service or maintenance, you will need to turn the furnace of f. The following procedures must be followed: 1. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting. (See Fig. 8.) 8 2. T urn of f all electrical power to the appliance.
