9 ST ART -UP Preliminary Chec ks 1. Field electrical power source must agree with unit name- plate rating. 2. Check that all internal wiring conne ctions are tight and that all barriers, covers, and pane ls are in place. Ensure no electrical wir es are in contact wit h refrigerant tubing.
10 Compressor Overload — This overload interrupts power to t he compress or when either the current or internal motor winding temperature be comes excessive, and automati- cally res ets when t he inte rnal tem perature drops t o a safe l evel. This overload may require up to 60 minutes (or longer) to reset.
11 Oil Char g e (T ables 1A and 1 B) 38 A KS U NI T S — Allow unit to run for about 20 minutes. Stop unit and che ck compressor oil level . Add oil only if neces- sary to bring oil into view in sight glass. Use on ly Ca rr ier- appr oved compr ess or oil.
12 Capacity Contr ol — Unit 38AKS012 Onl y — A suction pressure-actuated unl oader controls 2 cylinders and provides capacity control. Unloaders are fac tory set (see T able 1A or 1B), but may be field adjusted as follows: CONTROL SET POINT (cylinder l oad point) is adjustabl e from 0 to 85 psig (586 kPa).
