1 User Sof tware CD -ROM Drivers and S oftware F AX L Drivers Printer driver Y ou can print from an application using the machine by installing the printer driver on your c omputer . Y ou can process print data at high speed by compressing the print data using the computer's pr ocessing capability.
2 Installing the F A X L Driv ers I nstall the software to use the machine. • If you are using a 64-bit opera ting system The F AX L drivers f or 64-bit operating systems may not be supplied depending on your country or region. • User rights for logging on to W indows Log on as a user with administrative rights .
3 2 Click [Easy Installation]. T o install the following manual that cannot be installed with [Easy Installation], selec t [Custom Installation] (See p. 6). • e-Manual * If the Multi-lingual User Manual CD is supplied with the machine, install the e-Manual from the Multi-lingual User Manual CD .
4 4 Read the License A greement, and then click [Y es]. 5 Click [Next]. 6 Click [Exit]..
5 7 Confirm tha t the application is selected [ ] under [Install], and then click [Next]. 8 Restart your computer . (1) Select the [Restar t Computer Now (Recommended)] check box. (2) Click [Restar t]. The CD-ROM may be removed once this scr een appears.
6 Installing with [ Custom Installation] 1 Insert the User Sof tware CD-ROM into the slot on your c omputer . 2 Click [C ustom Installation]. T he options to be displayed differ depending on your country or region. If the above CD-ROM setup screen does not appear: Windo ws 2000, XP , and Server 2003 1.
7 3 Select the check box next to the application you w ant to install, and then click [Install]. T he options to be displayed differ depending on your country or region. T o install the e-Manual, select the [M anuals] check box. * If [Manuals] does not appear , install the e -Manual from the Multi-lingual User Manual CD supplied with the machine.

10 USB cable connection 1 Remove the cap ( A) on the USB port of the machine. Remove the cap by pulling out the string. (A) 2 Connect the USB cable. • Flat end (A): Connect to the USB port on the computer. • Square end (B): Connect to the USB port on the machine.
11 Checking the installation results Check that the F AX L drivers are installed correctly . Check if the following icons are display ed for the installed applications. About Icons that Are Display ed: Icons for each driver may be display ed separately or only representative ic on may be displayed depending on the operating system.
