7 CL OCK/MINUTE MINDER OPER A TION TIMER FUNCTION BUT T ONS Minute Minder Here you can set a time period of up to 23 hours 59 minutes , th at will count down. When it reaches z ero, the timer will emit an audible tone. For Example: If you set 20 minutes, the audible t one will occur 20 minutes later .
The hotplate has one high speed w ok burner , one large high speed burner , four normal simmering burners and two small simmering burners which will accommodate pans between 100mm (4”) and 200mm (8”) diamet er . All pans should be positioned centrally ov er the burners.
A non-stick griddle is supplied for use ov er the two burners on the far right hand side of the hob . The griddle is made of cast aluminium and the surf ace is c over ed with a special non-stick finish. T o protect the non-stick coating nev er use metal cooking utensils as they may scra tch the surface.
SOME RECIPE IDEAS FOR Y OUR GRIDDLE DROPPED SCONES 4oz (100g) plain flour 1/4 tsp salt 1 level tsp (5ml) cream of tartar 1/2 level tsp (2.5ml) bicarbonate of soda 1 egg 1oz (25g) caster sugar 1/4 pint (150ml) milk 1/2oz (10g) margarine METHOD 1. Rub the fat into the flour .

The grill control is designed to pr ovide v ariable heat control of either the full width of the grill or just the left half.
The heating of the ov en is achieved by turning the control knob clock wise to the required tempera ture as recommended in the temper ature charts. The pilot light will immediately come on and will automatically go off and on during c ooking as the oven thermostat maintains the correct temperature .
TEMPERA TURE AND TIME When all three shelves ar e used to cook large quantities of f oo d for home freezing or parties, it may be necessary to increase the cooking times given in the char ts by a f ew minutes to allow f or the loss of heat due to the extra time taken to load the ov en, and the larger mass of food .
OVEN C ONTROL Heating of the oven is achiev ed by turning the control clockwise to the required oven tempera- ture scale on the control panel, as rec ommended in the temperature charts. The pilot light will immediately come on and off during cooking as the thermostat maintains the correct temperature .

The ov ens hav e a ‘Slow C ook ’ setting specially designed to redu c e energy usage. T o operate , turn the oven thermostat c ontrol to 90˚C. Some advantages of slo w cooking are: This is used for slo w cooking, keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods.
W ARNING: NEVER USE STEAM CLEANERS. Switch off the electricity supply and allow to c ool before clea ning the cook er . Clean the cooker r egularly and wipe up spills so on after they occur to pr ev ent them from becoming burnt on.

24 SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplat e level. This requir es a minimum distance of 1000mm between cupboard units of hotplat e height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distance of 400mm above hotplat e level, allow a side clear ance of at least 65mm.
