Note that the full startup sequence can take approximately 30 seconds to complete.

9 ENGLISH Basic connections Network connections Before y ou can use your Stream Magic 6 for iRadio/Streaming y ou must hav e the follo wing: • A br oadband internet connection (such as ADSL) t o a suitable internet service pro vider (ISP). • A network connection either wirelessly via 802.
10 Connecting to a wireless ne twork Place the Stream Magic 6 in range of your wireless netw ork (usually 10-30m of a suitable wireless transmitter , although this is af fected b y walls and the construction of your building) and turn it on, via the back panel switch and then on the fr ont panel.

12 Alphanumeric Search This is a search function menu inserted by the Stream Magic 6 int o the browse tree of UPnP servers that suppor t an external sear ch function. Where available y ou can select Alphanumeric search and then ent er the name or partial name of an album or track you wish to nd.
13 ENGLISH Playlists The Stream Magic 6 also supports various playlist formats. F or permanent storage of fav ourite media selections it is recommended t o use suitable software to create playlists. These can then be accessed by the Stream Magic 6 fr om USB Media or UPnP servers that suppor t Playlist serving.
14 Use with Linux In USB Audio 1.0 mode the Stream Magic 6 will w ork with most Linux distributions, allowing the pla yback of audio up to 2 4-bit/96kHz. Newer Linux distributions (e.g. Ubuntu 10.04) support USB Audio 2.0 for which the Stream Magic 6 should be switched to USB A udio 2.
15 ENGLISH Pairing T o begin streaming high quality music from your chosen media source it will rst need to be paired with the BT1 00. A. Insert BT100 into the USB port at the back of your Stream Magic 6. B. W ait a moment for the BT1 00 to be de tected.

18 Automatic P ower Do wn The Stream Magic 6 will switch itself off af ter 15 minut es if it is not playing an ything and there has been no user interaction with it during this time. As a def ault this is set to 15 minut es, but you can increase or decrease this time, or turn this f eature off altogether if desired.
