English - 11 Setting up the System Adding the system to y our Wi-Fi ® network Tip: A laptop is the preferr ed method for connecting to the network. If you must use a desktop computer , see “Appendix D: Using a desktop computer to connect to the network” on page 34.
12 - English Setting up the System Connecting the system to y our home Wi-Fi ® network 1. Place the Acoustimass ® module on a sturdy surface, close to an AC (mains) power source. 2. Connect the wireless adapter to the Bose link connector on the back of the Acoustimass ® module.

English - 15 Setting up the System CAUTION: • Do not stand the module on its front or back end. • Do not put electronic media such as video or audio tapes on or next to the module for long periods of time. The magnetic field surrounding the module may erase some or all of the recor ded material.

Lay the Acoustimass ® module on its side. Insert the L (gray) speaker cable into the L (gray) connector on the Acoustimass ® module.
English - 17 Setting Up the System Placing the SoundTouch™ wireless adapter The SoundT ouch ™ wireless adapter pr ovides the network connection for the SoundT ouch ™ Stereo JC Wi-Fi ® music system. It must remain in range of the Wi-Fi router , and within 70 feet (21 m) of the SoundT ouch ™ controller .
18 - English Controll ing the System using the App Using the SoundTouch ™ app The SoundT ouch ™ app is a software application that enables you to contr ol the system from your computer , smartphone, or tablet. Using the app, your smart device acts as a rich remote for your SoundT ouch ™ system.
English - 19 Controll ing the System using the App Downloading the app for y our mobile device Bose ® offers a fr ee mobile version of the SoundT ouch ™ app so you can control the system from your smartphone or tablet.
20 - English Using the System Playing music with the SoundTouch ™ control ler During the setup process, you wer e prompted to connect the SoundT ouch ™ controller to the system.
English - 21 Using the System Playing an AirPlay stream from an AirPlay compatible device In addition to playing content from Internet radio, music services (where available), and your music library , you can also stream audio from an AirPlay device on the same Wi-Fi network.
22 - English Personalizing your Presets How Presets work Y ou can personalize six Presets to your favorite streaming music services (wher e available), stations, playlists, artists, albums, or songs from your music library . Y ou can access your music at any time with a simple touch of a button on the Sound- T ouch ™ controller .
English - 23 ADAPT iQ ® Per forming the ADAPT iQ ® cal ibration What you need: SoundT ouch ™ controller ADAPTiQ ® headset The ADAPTiQ ® audio calibration system customizes the sound of your system to the acoustics of your listening area. Note: Y ou must complete SoundT ouch ™ setup before performing ADAPTiQ ® audio calibration.
