Y ou can connect many types of USB devices t o the LinkStation, including USB hard drives , USB ash drives, single- card card r eaders, digital cameras , and USB printers.

Using your LinkStation LinkStation User Manual 28 S yst em-Stor age Check Disk A disk check tests the data on a drive in the LinkSta tion or connected via USB. Errors are x ed automatically . A disk check may run for more than t en hours. Shared f olders cannot be accessed during the disk check.
Using your LinkStation LinkStation User Manual 29 Note: If you access a shar ed folder from a Macintosh c omputer , information les for Macintosh ma y be automatically generat ed. Do not delete these les from a Windows c omputer . O ther wise, you may no longer be able t o access folders fr om the Macintosh.
Using your LinkStation LinkStation User Manual 30 F ormat a Driv e • A format deletes all data fr om a hard drive . Be careful! Back up any important data on a drive befor e formatting it. It will take several minutes to f ormat a hard drive . • Shared folders cannot be ac cessed during formatting .

They work well with man y devices, but do not suppor t large lesizes.

Using your LinkStation LinkStation User Manual 91 DLNA Media List The LinkStation will maintain a da tabase of videos, pictures, and music sav ed in its media folder and distribute a list of available media to DLNA media pla yers on the network. This list is distributed after each reboot and once ev er y 60 minutes by default.
