2 2 FREEC OM SIL VER STORE 2-DRIVE NAS • Storage - The S tora ge menu displays the number of hard drives installe d on the SilverStore and b asic hard drive(s) infor mation (such as mo del nam e, siz e, an d status).
2 3 FREEC OM SIL VER STORE 2-DRIVE NAS Usin g the Syste m Menu The System me nu contains basic info rmation fo r the SilverStore. Use this menu to set the d evice name, time zo ne, date and time, email n otif ications , and remote shutdown or re mote rebo ot the SilverStore.
2 4 FREEC OM SIL VER STORE 2-DRIVE NAS Bas ic Se tu p Use the Basic Setup tab to conf igure basic device set tings , such as set the device name, enter a device des cription, conf ig ure the time zon e, and set date and t ime for the Sil verStore. T o conf ig ure the SilverStore se ttin gs: 1 .

4 3 FREEC OM SIL VER STORE 2-DRIVE NAS iSCS I Use the iSCSI tab to enable the iSCSI (Internet Small Computer System Inter face) o r iSNS (Internet Storage Nam e Ser vice) s er vice, create an iSCSI device, s et up an iSCSI target, and create an iSCSi initiator.

4 7 FREEC OM SIL VER STORE 2-DRIVE NAS Sha res Use th e Shares tab to manage shares in the SilverStore. This tab includ es a tab le that disp lays a list of all the shares, log ical vo lumes, and protocols cu rrently def ine d on the SilverStore hard drive.

4 9 FREEC OM SIL VER STORE 2-DRIVE NAS USB D isk The USB Disk tab p rovides conf igur ation optio ns for a USB hard drive conne cte d to the SilverStore. Use this t ab to re motely form at a USB hard drive, safely disconne ct a USB hard drive fro m the SilverStore, and ba ckup data fro m a USB drive to the SilverStore.

Ea ch user or group must have access p ermissio n to access shared resource on the SilverStore. Ther e are three pri vileg e levels an administ rator can assign to a user o r group.
