Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 3 1 1 Removing the protecti ve part s 1 Remove the protective tape. Note Make sure you remove th e b attery, ba ttery cover and cordless handset from the carton and from their individual pa cking. Save them for use in Installing the battery on page 12.
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 4 3 Press and slide the paper side guides (1) and paper length guide (2) to f i t t h e pa per size. 4 Fan the stack of paper well to avoid pape r j a ms and misfeeds. 5 Gently p ut the p aper into the paper tray print side down and top edg e first.

Conne c t one end of the telephone line cord to the socket on the machine m arked LIN E and the ot her end to a modul ar wall so cket. Note If you are sharing one phon e line w it h an external telephone, connec t i t a s shown below.

Note If the LCD sh ows Install Black after y o u install the i nk c artri d ges, check that the ink cart ridge is ins ta lled cor rec tly.

DO NOT put the cordless handset near heaters, air conditioners, wat er or c hemicals. DO NOT expose the cordless hand s e t to di rec t sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, or dust.
