7 ASSEMBL Y BEFORE ST AR TING THE ENGINE Add Engine Oil CAUTION! An y attempt to crank or start the engine befor e it has been properl y ser viced with the recommended oil ma y result in an engine failure. 1. Place generator on a flat, level surface. 2.
OPERA TION 8 USING THE GENERA T OR System Gr ound The generator has a system ground that connects the generator frame components to the ground terminals on the A C output receptacles. The system ground is connected to the A C neutral wire (see “Equipment Description”, earlier in this manual).
9 OPERA TION OPERA TING THE GENERA T OR Star ting the Engine Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator . Use the following start instructions: 1. Mak e sure unit is on a le vel surface. 2. T urn fuel valve to “ On ” position (Figure 4). Fuel valve handle should be vertical (pointing toward gr ound) for fuel to flow .
OPERA TION 10 Connecting Electrical Loads • Let engine stabilize and warm up for a fe w minutes after starting. • Plug in and turn on the desired 120 and/or 240 V olt A C, single phase, 60 Hz electrical loads. • DO NO T connect 240 V olt loads to the 120 V olt duplex receptacles.
OPERA TION 11 DON'T O VERLO AD GENERA T OR Capacity Y ou must mak e sure y our generator can supply enough rated (running) and surge (starting) watts for the items you will pow er at the same time . Follow these simple steps: 1. Select the items you will po wer at the same time.
SPECIFICA TIONS 12 ENGINE TECHNICAL INFORMA TION This is a single cylinder , ov erhead valve(OHV), air cooled engine. It is a low emissions engine. In the State of California, Model Series 150000 engines are certified by the California Air Resources Boar d to meet emissions standards for 250 hours.

MAINTENANCE 14 • Use lo w pressur e air (not to exceed 25 psi) to blow a wa y dirt. Inspect cooling air slots and openings on the generator . These openings must be k ept clean and unobstructed.

MANTENIMIENT O 37 P ara dar ser vicio al filtro de air e, siga los pasos que se detallan a continuación: 1. Afloje los tornillos y quite air e la cubierta más limpia. Quite papel el filtr o (Figura 25). 2. Instale limpie (o n uevo) air e la asamblea más limpia dentr o de la cubierta.
