1 This Getting Started Guide describes how to install the ANA-771 1C /F NAC ™ adapter and how to install the driver for Red Hat version 8.0 and Red Hat versio n 8 .0 S MP (sym metric multip rocessor ). Y ou ca n find mor e detailed information about your adapter in the Installation Guide on the CD.
2 System Requir ements ■ Intel Pentium or equivalent computer ■ At least 12 8 MB of RAM ■ An av ailable 3. 3-V ke yed P CI slot ■ CD-ROM drive ■ Gigabit Ether net (GbE) copper (CA T 5 or CA T 6) or SC fib er ca ble Not e: The cable is not included in the kit.
3 4 Locate an unused and unobstructed 3 .3-V ke yed, 64-b it or 32-bit P CI expansion slot and r emove the expansion slot cov er . Save the slot cover screw for us e in th e n ext st ep. 5 Insert the a dapter in t h e 3.3-V keyed PCI expansion slot . Pr ess the boar d firmly into the slot unti l it clic ks into pl ace.
4 Installi ng the Driver Use the fo llowin g in s t r u ct io n s t o in s ta l l th e dr iv e r u s in g Re d H a t’s Network Configuration Graphical User Interface (GUI) on a Red Hat 8.0 single pr ocessor Intel Pentiu m system or on a Red H at 8.0 SMP (symmetr ic multip r ocessor) Intel Pentium system.
