Amber - Amplifier is in low-pow er consumption Sleep Mode . Red - Amplifier has protected itself due to a fault condition.

Accepts up to # 1 0 A WG wire or spade lugs for speak er system connections. 2. Gr ound T erminal - Pr o vides con v enient access to ear th gr ound.
Installation Mechanical Components 1 . Rack Ears - Prior to installing the amplifier into a 1 9" rack, y ou will need to attach the rack ears. Remo v e and sa ve the 6 front most co ver scre ws on each side panel of the amplifier . P osition the rack ears as shown and attach using the 6 scre ws.
Installation V entilation The Black Max amplifiers wer e designed to be placed on a table or rack-mounted. For rack-mounted applications, the amplifiers can be stack ed one on top of the other for maximum use of the rack space a vailable without any extra, empty rack spaces between them.
Connections Speakers 70V "T ransformer -Coupled" Speak ers The Black Max series was designed to driv e onl y 70V constant voltage type speak er loads. The use of lo w-impedance speak ers ma y cause the amplifier to engage its protection cir cuits and shut down or limit ampli- fier function.
Sequential T urn-On Sequential T urn-On Operation Black Max amplifiers contain a sequential turn-on featur e that is designed to turn on a bank of Black Max amplifiers, one at a time, in sequence with appro ximately 1 second between each amplifier .
Operation Fr ont Controls & Indicators P o wer Switch The Po wer Switch for the Black Max amplifier is located on the fr ont of the unit. Press the "I" side of the s witch to turn the unit ON. The amplifier will begin its pow er up process once turned on.
Operation Sleep Switch The Black Max amplifier includes a sleep mode featur e that greatl y reduces the pow er consumption of the amplifier after it has been idle (no audio activity) f or mor e than 3 minutes. Any audio activity pr esent at the input will pow er up the amplifier instantaneously and noiselessly , so that there is no loss of audio .
