3 DOWN-FLOW INSTALLATION All P*DHX furnace models have been assembled for instal lation in the down- flow posit ion. Maintain al l clearances to combustibl es as outlined in Table 1. P*DHX models hav e available sub-bases for installat ions on com bustible floor s.
4 SUSPENDED INST ALLA T ION Refer to Figure 1. M aintain clearances to combustibl es as outlined in Table 1. T he furnace may be su spended by field fabr i- cating a cradle of a ngle iron and threaded r od. Secure the furn ace with 2 inch minimu m slotted angle or equiva- lent, as show n in Figure 1.

8 OIL BURNER P*LBX furnace s are equipped w ith Beckett AF Serie s oil burners with the Beckett CleanCut pump and R7184B oil primary contro l. P*DHX furnaces are equipped w ith Beckett AF Series oi l burners w ith the R8184N oil pr imary con- trol. The oil burner mu st align properly with the cer afelt fiber chamber (fire pot).
9 Check the oi l pump press ure. Standard operating pressure is 100 PSI G. After reaching ste ady state, take a smoke test . If not indica ting a trace, s et the combust ion air controls t o provide a trace. Typically , the CO 2 reading w ill range from 11.
10 IMPORTANT : Be sure that the home owner know s where the burner reset switch is located, and is aw are that the reset switc h is not to be activated mor e than once w ithout a thorough look for the cause of the pr oblem, (lac k of fuel, etc.

If no light or flame i s pr esent, and unit p asses its self- diagnost ic procedure, the c ontrol enters int o the idle mode . 22 R7184 LED DIAGNOST IC LIGHT The LED diagnos tic light has several function s. It indicate s the state or mode in which t he oil burner i s op erating. It will also indicat e fault conditions , and help determine cad cell resista nce while the burner is operatin g.
