7 9. Use wrenche s to remove he x lock n ut (D). Remove two spa cers (E), and hex bolt (F) from top of the hous ing assem bly. For easy assembl y, do not r emove the s econd s pacer from the h ex bolt. See Figure 5. 10. Place t he disc harge ch ute in pos ition on the discha rge open ing.

9 5. Pull ro pe with a rapi d full arm s troke. Let r ope return to starter slo wly. 6. When engine s tarts, mov e choke lever to half choke position until engi ne runs s moothly and then to No Ch oke posi tion. 7. If engine f ails to start aft er th ree pu lls, move choke lever to No C hoke positio n and p ull st arter rope again.
10 WARNING: Temperatu re of muffler an d near b y ar eas may exc eed 150 o F(65 o C) . Avoid th ese area s. LUBRICA TION Lubricate the pivot poi nts on the rel ease rod brac ket, hopper a ssembly, a nd chute d eflector onc e a season using a lig ht oil.

12 3. Remove th e six hex l ock nut s and flat washers from the hous ing weld bol ts using a 1/2" wrench . Separate the chip per-shre dder int o two halve s. 4. Remove th e support pl ate. NOTE: Whe n reassembl ing, make certain th e emboss ed tab face s inwa rd towards the impel ler.
