2 INSTALLA TION QUICK-ST A RT A typical system will use an IR receiver, several em itters, and a power suppl y all connected to a connecti ng block. 1. Connect the IR receiver to the “IR RC VR” port on the connecting block. The ‘red’ connector i s installed to the ‘red’ plug.
4 LARGE SYSTEM APPLICA T ION The ML85 IR receiver is co mpatible with all Xantech C onnecting Blocks . Different connecting block s are provided for app lication specific situations. For instance, in the diagram below, an optional 791-44 con necting block is used to control several com ponents.
6 ITEM C: (4) 283D Desig ner Emitters ITEM D: (1) 781ERGPS Po w er Supply STEP 1: Plug in the 2.1mm Coaxial power plug of the 781ERG PS Power Suppl y ( ITEM D ) into the jack labeled 12VDC on the 789-44 Connecti ng Block ( ITEM B ). Plug the AC end of the 781 ERGPS Power Suppl y ( ITEM D ) into a ‘un- switched’ 120V AC Line out let.

Each installation is different due to the num ber of IR receivers in use, length of wire runs, t ype of wire, amount of am bient IR noise present, etc….
10 Symptom #3: TB LED on I R Receiver (and/or Emitte rs) on solid Cause: Solution 1. Plasma Interference Use a 85 or 95 series Plasma 'Friendly' Receiver. If already using a this unit, please note the Plasma interference can be refl ected off of any item it comes into contact w ith within approx.
12 Symptom 6: Emitters function but some (or all) compo nents do not respond. Cause: Solution 1. Emitter placement is incorre ct. Reposition the Emitter so that i t is directly over the components sensor w indow. Consult the components ow ners’ manual of the unit for the exact location of the IR Sensor Window.
