6 Rang e COOKTOP USE Cooktop Contr o ls The control knobs can be set to anywhere betw een HI and LO. Push in a nd turn to se tting . On some mod els, the surfac e cook ing area locator shows which element is turned on . Use the following chart as a guide when settin g heat levels .
7 NOTE : On self-c leaning models, th e cooktop will not operat e when the rang e is in a self- cleanin g mode. Ceramic Glass (on some models) The surface cooking a rea will glow red when an element is on. I t will cycl e on and off, at all setti ngs, to mainta in the selec ted heat level .
8 T o Replace: 1. Line up openi ngs in the bur ner bowl with the coil eleme nt receptacle. 2. Holding the coi l element as leve l as possibl e, slowly pus h the coil element t erminal into the receptac le. 3. When the te rminal is p ushed int o the receptacle as far as i t will go, push dow n the edge of the coi l element opposi te the receptacle.
9 ELECTR ONIC OVEN CONTROL Oven Indicator Lights The indicat or lights are located alon g all 4 sides of th e display . The indicator lights light up or flash when the oven is in one of the follo wing.
10 Con tr ol Lock The Con tr ol Lock shuts down the cont rol panel pads t o avoid unintended use of the oven. When the control is l ocked, only th e Clock and Timer pads will function. T o Lock/Unlock Contr ol: Before locking, make sure the oven and Timer are off.
11 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is u sed the first few times, or when it is heavi ly soile d. IMPORT AN T : The health of some birds is extremely sensi tive to the f umes gi ven of f. Expo sur e to t he fum es ma y r esul t in dea th to certain birds.
12 Bake wa re The bakeware mat erial affects cooking r esults. Follow manufact urer ’ s recommendations and us e the bakeware size recommended in the recipe. Use the following ch art as a guide. Meat Thermo meter On models wit hout a temperatu re probe, use a meat thermometer to determine donenes s of meat, poultry and fish.
13 Preheat temperatures are affected by vary ing factors suc h as room temperature and peak energy usage times. It is normal for the tempera ture showing on the dis play and the act ual oven temperature to di ffer .
14 3. Press COOK TIME. The cook ti me oven indicator light will ligh t up. 4. Press TE MP/TIME “ up ” or “ down ” arrow p ads to en ter the length of tim e to co ok. 5. Press ST ART/EN TER. The di splay will coun t down t he time . When the ti me ends, the oven will shut off automa tically an d “ End ” wi ll appear on the display .
15 3. Press ST ART/EN TER. The oven door will automati cally lock. The ON and D OOR LOCKED oven ind icator lights will light up. The door will not unlock until the oven cools. When the cyc le is complete an d the oven cool s, “ End ” will appear on the oven displa y and the oven indicator light s will go of f.
16 COIL ELEMENT S (on some models) Cleaning Method: ■ Damp cloth: Make su re control knobs are of f and element s are cool. Do not clean or imme rse in wate r . Soil will burn of f when hot. For more information, see “ Coil Elements an d Burner Bow ls.
17 Oven Door For normal range use, it is not suggested to remove the oven door . How ever , if removal is necessary , make su re the oven is off and cool. Then, follow thes e instructions. The oven door is he avy . To R e m o v e : 1. Open oven door all the way .
