7 3. Press 20mm x 40mm Inner Caps (44) into the ends of both Backrest T ubes (25). Lubricate an M10 x 152mm Bolt (11). Attach the Backrest T ubes (25) to the Bench F rame (49) with the Bolt, two M10 W ashers (15), and an M10 Nylon Lockn ut (14). The Backrest Brac kets must be ori- ented as shown.
8 7. Press three 50mm Square Inner Caps (36) into the Leg Le ver (32). Press a 1” Round Inner Cap (41) into the Leg Le ver . Press a 1” Angle Cap (5) onto the Leg Le ver . 8. Lubricate the M10 x 72mm Bolt (10). Attach the Leg Le ver (32) to the F ront Leg (22) with the Bolt and an M10 Nylon Lockn ut (14).
9 11. Note: The WEIDER PRO 545 is designed to be used with both olympic and standard barbells. If you will be using an olympic barbell, assemble the base in the wide position, as shown in the main dr awing. If you will be using a standard barbell, assemb le the base in the narrow position, as sho wn in the inset dra wing.
10 14. Inser t a W eight Rest (37) into each Rear Upright (19). Be sure that the Weight Rests are inserted at the same level on both sides. 15. Slide a F ront Upr ight (18) onto the indicated M8 x 58mm Carriage Bolts (6) in either section of the Base (20, 55).
17. Slide a Carriage Stop (54) onto a F ront Upright (18). Be sure that the 60mm Square Bushing (53) is facing up. Align the holes in the Carriage Stop with the holes in the Front Upright. Insert an M8 x 68mm Bolt (8) through the Carriage Stop and F ront Upright.
12 19. Attach each section of the T op F rame (21, 39) to the F ront Uprights (18) with an M8 x 68mm Bolt (8), two M8 W ashers (13), and an M8 Nylon Locknut (12). Attach each section of the T op F rame (21, 39) to the Rear Uprights (19) with two M8 x 68mm Bolts (8), two M8 W ashers (13), and two M8 Nylon Lockn uts (12).
23. Press a 1” Round Inner Cap (41) into each end of a Spotter T ube (4). Press a 1” Round Inner Cap into each end of the other Spotter T ube (not shown). 24. Inser t a Spotter T ube (4) through a F ront Upr ight (18) and into a Rear Upright (19).
14 ADJUSTING THE BA CKREST The Backrest (29) can be set at f our diff erent positions: the le vel position, the decline position, and two incline positions. T o change the position of the Backrest (29), remo ve the “L ” Pin (46) from the Adjustment Br acket (26) and the Bench F rame (49).
15 ADJUSTING THE WEIGHT RESTS Squat e xercises and toe raise e xercises natur ally require that the Weight Rests (37) be set to a diff erent height than bench press e xercises. Y ou should alwa ys set the Weight Rests to a height which is comf or table f or the ex ercise you will perf or m.

If you are using an ol ympic barbell, you m ust use the wide setting. If you are using a five or six foot long barbell, you must use the narro w setting.
17 THE FOUR B ASIC TYPES OF WORK OUTS • Muscle Building In order to increase the size and strength of y our muscles, y ou must push your m uscles to a high per- centage of their capacity . Y ou must also prog ressiv ely increase the intensity of your e x ercise so that your muscles will continually adapt and g row .
18 f or 3 minutes after each set if you are doing a muscle building w or kout, 1 minute after each set if y ou are doing a toning workout, and 30 seconds after each set if you are doing a w eight loss wor kout. Plan to spend the first couple of weeks f amiliar izing yourself with the equipment and learning the proper form for each e xercise.
