5 A T T ACHING THE CONTROL HANDLE TO THE HANDLEBAR NOTE: Make sure t he wire going t o t he c on- trol handle is routed below the tube and re- mains on the right si de of the handlebar and the tube. Screw H ole Screw S Slide handle ont o the right si de of the han- dlebar and align the screw hole.
6 S Insert a hex wrench into aligned holes. T his will k eep the shaf t from t urning while tight- ening the trimm er head. Hex Wrench S While holding t he hex wrenc h in position, thread trimmer head onto t he shaf t and tighten until sec ure. NOTE: The retaining was her mus t be posi- tioned with the raised sect ion facing toward the gearbox.
7 the raised part of t he retaining washer is facing the gearbox , and t he raised area fit s into t he hole i n the center of t he blade. S Slide t he blade and retaini ng washer onto the shaf t of the gearbox . S Now place the c upped washer onto t he shaft.
8 S Slowly press the primer bulb 6 times. S Move chok e lev er to FULL CHOKE pos i- tion. Choke Primer Bulb Starter Handle Muffler S Activat e the throttl e lock. Keep t hrottle t rigger in the starting posi tion unti l engine runs smoothly . S Pull starter rope handle s harply 6 times.
9 S WHAT CAUS ES B L A DE T HRUS T Bl a de Thrust can occur w hen the spi nning blade contacts an object that it does not cut. This contact causes t he blade to stop for an inst ant and then suddenly move or “thrust” away from the object that was hit .
