7 REPLACE SP ARK PLUG Replace the spark plug eac h year to ens ure the engine starts eas ier and runs better . Set spark plug gap at 0.025 inc h. Ignition timing is fixed and nonadjustable. 1. Tw ist, then pull off spark plug boot. 2. Remove spark plug from cylinder and dis- card.
8 TROUBLE CAUSE REMEDY Engine will not start. 1. Engine flooded. 2. Fuel t ank empty. 3. Spark pl ug not fi ring. 4. Fuel not reaching carburetor . 5. Carburetor requires adjustm ent. 1. See “Starting a Flooded Engi ne” in Operation Sec tion. 2. Fill tank wit h correct fuel mix ture.
