S CANNING AN I TEM 9 S CANNING AN I TEM The follo wing procedur e provides the basic steps for scanning an item. Y ou can scan many types of items, fr om small business car ds to A4-sized pages. The P aperP ort software also has special settings for scanning color photos and fine print (like the fi ne print on a contract).

The P aperP ort Scan M anager dialog box appears. 2. In the Scan P age F or options, select the scan setting appr opriate for the item you want to scan.

18 P APER P ORT F LATBED S CANNER I NSTALLATION G UIDE 6. T o change the dimensions of the r ectangle, click the r ectangle, and then drag the bor ders of the r ectangle to resiz e it. This effectiv ely allows y ou to crop the item. The dimensions of the selected ar ea appear in the Scan Confi guration settings.

An important point after buying a device Visioneer 6000 (or even before the purchase) is to read its user manual. We should do this for several simple reasons:
If you have not bought Visioneer 6000 yet, this is a good time to familiarize yourself with the basic data on the product. First of all view first pages of the manual, you can find above. You should find there the most important technical data Visioneer 6000 - thus you can check whether the hardware meets your expectations. When delving into next pages of the user manual, Visioneer 6000 you will learn all the available features of the product, as well as information on its operation. The information that you get Visioneer 6000 will certainly help you make a decision on the purchase.
If you already are a holder of Visioneer 6000, but have not read the manual yet, you should do it for the reasons described above. You will learn then if you properly used the available features, and whether you have not made any mistakes, which can shorten the lifetime Visioneer 6000.
