S CANNING AN I TEM 9 S CANNING AN I TEM The follo wing procedur e provides the basic steps for scanning an item. Y ou can scan many types of items, fr om small business car ds to A4-sized pages. The P aperP ort software also has special settings for scanning color photos and fine print (like the fi ne print on a contract).

The P aperP ort Scan M anager dialog box appears. 2. In the Scan P age F or options, select the scan setting appr opriate for the item you want to scan.

18 P APER P ORT F LATBED S CANNER I NSTALLATION G UIDE 6. T o change the dimensions of the r ectangle, click the r ectangle, and then drag the bor ders of the r ectangle to resiz e it. This effectiv ely allows y ou to crop the item. The dimensions of the selected ar ea appear in the Scan Confi guration settings.
