3 IMPORT ANT : Although this unit is delivered in a par tially-charged state - you must fully charge it with the supplied 110/120 V olt AC charger for a full 24 hours before using it for the first time. Y ou can not overcharge the unit using the AC charger method.

5 1. INTRODUCTION Congratulations on selecting the V ector® Model VEC016 Compact Jump Star ter and DC Power System. It can jumpstart most vehicles or boats with a standard 12 volt DC electrical system: boat, small truck, car , airplane, RV , personal watercraft, snowmobile, tractor , etc.
6 Moving to the left of the AC recharge por t are three LEDs, called the Battery Status Display , and a Batter y Status Pushbutton. Pressing the pushbutton turns on the Batter y Status Display . The pushbutton is pressed to check the batter y level at any time.

10 4.2 DC RECHARGE Recharging the Main Unit from an external DC power source requires the use of the DC/DC Recharge Cable. This cable has a DC connector at each end. See Figure 3B. MAKE SURE SAFETY ON/OFF SWITCH AND WORKLIGHT ARE TURNED OFF DURING RECHARGE, THIS MA Y SLOW RECHARGE OF THE MAIN BA TTER Y .
11 6. BA TTER Y DISPOSAL Contains a maintenance-free, sealed, non-spillable, lead acid batter y , which must be disposed of properly . Recycling is required -contact your local authority for information. Failure to comply with local, state and federal regulations can result in fines, or imprisonment.
