Charging the Battery Charge the P A600 for at least 16 hours prior to initial use. After the initial charge, the P A600 will recharge to full capacity in about 4 hours.
Chapter 1 Getting Started 9 Charging the Battery with the Docking Station 1. Plug the AC Adapter Cabl e into the Docking S tati on’ s power jack, and connect the other end of th e AC Adapter into an electrical outlet. 2. Slide the P A600 down into the Docking S tation until it snaps into place.

Chapter 1 Getting Started 13 Calibrating the P A600 Screen The calibration screen automat ically appears when the P A60 0 powers on for the first time or after the system is reset. Calibrate the scr een at any time through the following: 1. T ap Star t → Settings → Control Panel .

Adjusting the Screen Brightness Adjust the screen brightness by pressing FUNC to enable the secondary key func- tion and press 7 (decrease brightness) or 9 (increase bri ghtness).

22 Using the RFID HF Reader The P A600 has a built-in RFID High Frequency Reader that al lows users to read vari- ous types of RFID cards. The RF ID scanning area is shown below:. Execute an RFID card reading with t he P A600 through the following: Bring an RFID tag near t he P A600’s RFID antenna.
Chapter 2 Using the Hardware 23 2. Select a card type: 15693 , 14443A or 14443B . T ap Star t to activate the RFID reader . 3. Bring a tag close to the RFID antenna. The tag is read into the field. Select the Beeper check box to enable a beeping sound when an RF ID tag is read.

46 Performing a hardware reset Perform a reset if the P A600 fr eezes (i.e., no longer responds). Performing a W arm Boot A W arm Boot allows the P A600 to get a fresh star t, similar to rebo oting a computer . This will restart the P A600 and adjust memory allocation.
