Contents General Description ......................................... 2 Features ................................................... 2 Front Panel, Input Section ................................... 3 Front Panel, Output Section ......................
General Description The RX-208, 2 1 2 and 2 16 , are mixing consoles with 8 , 1 2 and 1 6 inputs respectively, 2 program outputs, 2 foldback outputs, an d 1 e ch o output. Each input channel an d l in e output h as a balanced, low impedance, transformer-isolated, X LR connector, an d a n unbalanced, 1 / 4 " jack.
Front Panel, Input Section Pe ak Indicator The peak indicator lights if clipping occurs in th e pre-amp stage of the corresponding input channel. When the light comes on, an adjustment m us t b e made with t he Input Level Selector Switch and/or the Input T r i m control.
Front Panel, O utput Section F B 1 Volume Control (FB1) Th is control attenuates th e ech o- return sig na ls from the built-in ec ho o r an external e ch o unit an d assigns them t o th e FB 1 mixing bus.
Meter Panel RX-208, RX-212 Graphic Equalizer (EQUALIZATION) Two channel, 1 / 1 octave graphic equalizer with 9 bands (filters) enables 12dB of boost an d attenuation at ea c h center frequency with the " 0 " position of ea ch filter providing flat response.
Re ar Panel ( RX -208) RX-208 Program Li ne Ou t pu t Connectors an d Jacks (LINE OUT, PGM L, R) These connectors and jacks a re the outputs o f th e console de r iv in g t h e signals after ea c h program master fader.
R e a r P a n e l (RX-212, RX-216) The RX-2 12 a nd RX-216 a re th e same as t he RX-208 in functions, except th a t the RX-212 has 1 2 input channels an d the R X - 2 1 6 ha s 1 6 input channels.
Connection Example Main Speaker Systems ( Right) Ma i n Speak er Systems ( L eft) These XL R connectors are bal- anced, transformer-isolated, floating an d ac cep t lo w im pe d- an ce sources of fr o m +1 0d B to —60dB nominal level. The input level m u s t be adjusted by the in - pu t level selector sw i tc h and trim control.

How to u se ''channel patching" accessory j a c k The accessory j a c k (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) i s provided on each input channel to allow insertion o f outboard signal processing devices (example: c om pressor/limiters, noise gate, equalizer, etc.
How to ge t a go o d mixing • Before connecting the equipment t o the mixing console, check the impedance and level of both. If the i mpedances and levels do not m atch, m ixing will be v er y difficult a n d th e S/N ratio will also b e adversely affected.
Channel an d Graphic Equalizers Equalization f or m usic Th e Graphic Equalizer is designed not only f o r use in preventing feedback and equalizing uneven ro om frequency response to be flat, but al s o for eq u alizing frequency response to you r tastes an d producing favourable sound fo r you.
Channel and Graphic Equalizers Feedback Prevention Whe n the overall gain o f a sound system is increased, f eedback w i l l occur at frequencies w here th e system response has peaks. Suppose th e system has uneven frequency response l ike t ha t shown in th e following diagram.
