1 1 Chapter 1 Introduction The TF7750HDPVR digital receiv er is fully com pliant wit h the international Digital Video Broadcasting (D VB) standar d, and thus is able to receiv e digital broadcasts of that standard. F or its oper ation y ou need an antenna, which must be installed ap- propriately .

2 2.4 Connecting up y our digital receiv er 13 2.4.1 Connecting to the antenna Whatev er sort of connection y ou hav e be- tw een the digital receiv er and the television, y ou need to connect the digital receiv er to t he antenna so that it can receive digital televi- sion broadcasts.
14 Setup and send them to the digital receiver . Ho w ev er , t he satellite antenna onl y sends the frequencies t hat it can catch with the LNB frequency and polarisation specified by the digital re- ceiv er .
2 2.4 Connecting up y our digital receiv er 15 T o use the SCART output For best results with a standard television set, y ou should use a SCAR T cable. Plug one end of the cable into the TV socket on t he digital receiv er , and plug the other end into a free SCAR T socket on y our tele vision.
16 Setup T o use the S- Video output NOTE Y ou cannot view high definition video by means of the S- Video output. Y ou need t o obtain a S- Video cable to use the S- V ideo output. Plug one end of t he cable into t he S-VIDEO socket on the digital re- ceiv er , and plug the other end into t he match- ing socket on y our tele vision.
2 2.5 Switching on for the first time 17 T o enjo y Dolby Digital audio, your television or audio-video receiver must be able to de- code Dolby Digital audio, and y ou need to obtain an S/PDIF cable.
18 Setup check that the television is set to the correct input. If t he picture is good, you can skip to § 3.1 to search for av ailable television and radio services.

20 Ser vice Search 3.1.1 Configuring LNB settings There are tw o large frequency bands for satellite broadcasts. One is C band which ranges appro ximately from 4 to 6 GHz.

Choose your desired transponder at t he Frequency op- tion or enter it with the numeric buttons.

28 Ser vice Search search for services and displa y a list of television and radio services as t hey are found. It is common f or no channels to be found until quite late in t he process. When the scan is com- plete, y ou will see a message telling y ou how man y services ha ve been f ound.
3 3.4 R esetting to factory settings 29 See § 6.3 as to how to use the on-screen keyboard. T o change a satellite entry’s name, select y our desired entry at the Satellite Name option and select t he SA T Name Edit option. Then the on-screen keyboar d appears.

4 31 Chapter 4 Preference Settings 4.1 Language settings Y ou can select the language in which t he menu will be dis- pla yed. In addition to t hat, you can select t he language of audio track and of subtitle track. Select the System Setting > Language Setting menu.
32 Preference Settings 4.1.2 Subtitle language Set the 1s t Subtitle Language op tion and the 2nd Subtitle Lan- guage option to your desired languages. When y ou w atch a programme, if t he prog ramme has a subtitle track of t he lan- guage that is specified f or the 1st Subtitle Language , it will be displa yed.
4 4.2 Video and audio settings 33 4.2 Video and audio settings Y ou hav e to configure the video and audio settings appropriately for y our television set and other devices. Select t he System Set- ting > A/V Output Setting menu. Y ou should see a screen like t he left figure.
34 Preference Settings It is recommended to set it to Auto if you ha ve a high definition television. With that setting the digital receiv er will present a programme as it is wit hout any resolution con v ersion. While w atching television y ou can change the resolution wit h the V .

The left figure shows a normal picture displa yed in the normal screen. T o watch wide-screen prog rammes in the shape like the cen- tre figure, set t he Display Format option to Letter Box .

For the information box, see § 5.2.3 . T o adjust its display time, select t he Syst em Se tting menu and set the Info Box Display Time op tion as y ou desire.

62 Recording and Playback 7.1.2 Timer recording Y ou can make y our desired ser vice to be recorded at a specific time. Even if the digital receiv er is in standb y mode, it will switch into activ e mode and start recording at a specified time.
7 7.1 R ecording a programme 63 Every Day means liter ally ‘ev er y day .’ Every Week end means ‘Saturda y and Sunday ev ery w eek.’ W eekly means ‘one da y ev er y w eek.

7 7.2 File archive 65 7.1.4 Recording a pa y service programme Y ou can record a pay service programme wit hout t he subscrip- tion card. How ev er , y ou need t he subscription car d to play it back because it has not been descrambled.
66 Recording and Playback Press the button to dis- pla y the recorded prog ramme list. The file information is com- prised of the follo wing elements: file number , file name, recording time, r unning time, file size and so on. Y ou can pla y , mov e, delete, rename and lock a recording file.

74 Accessing via N etwork NOTE The web ser ver of the digital receiver doesn ’t w ork in standb y mode. So it must be pow ered up all the time if y ou wish to use the w eb ser vice at an y time.
8 8.1 Configuring the router 75 8.1.2 T o access o ver t he Internet When y ou are a w ay from home, y ou can access t he digital re- ceiv er inside your home if your router is configured to route access to t he digital receiv er by means of port forwar ding.

T o a void this cumbersome t hing, y ou had better assign a s tatic IP address rather than dynamic one.
78 Accessing via N etwork Y ou cannot only download but also upload recording files or MP3 files in the File Management page. NOTE The maximum number of user connections is only one. This means that y ou cannot access the web ser v er while someone else is occup ying it.
