1 Introduction The NEO-10 device is a network based Input Outpu t device. Within its enclosure are 10 DPDT relays with all 6 contacts of the relays brought out to ports (Normally Open, Norm al ly Close, Common for each half of relay). There are also 10 dio de blocked inp uts which can be used to mo nitor external events.
2 Connecting NEO to the World NEO has a total of three different ports th at are used to connect it to the world. Likely, the first port that will need to be connected is th e RS-232 port. 2.1 RS-232 Port The RS-232 port is used for initial setup purpo ses only.
3 Sof tware Configuration of NEO Setup of the N EO is almost enti rely done using a web browser. The first step required during setup is to assign the IP and Mask a ddresses to the NEO, using either a WEB Browser or Hyper Te rminal program if the assigned IP address is not accessible on your network.
At the main Hyper Term inal screen type up percase S then <enter>. Enter “technobabble” for the factory password..
A = The board serial num ber and case serial number s hould match. B = Do you want to reset the PIN number programmed into NEO. C = Current I P address, do yo u want to change ? D = Current Subn et .
3.2 General Setup via Web Pages The majority of the setup of the NEO is com pleted through t he Ethernet port. Onc e the steps of 3.1 ha ve been completed, a PC on the network can be used to gain access to the web page based setup of the NEO. In the URL window of Int ernet Explore r, type http://X.
Once all parameters are set, press the Submit bu tton to se nd them back to the NEO fr om the web browser. The parameters are not updated until they are actually saved to EPROM, (Section 3.
3.4 Multicast Setup A single m ulticast address is em ployed by NEO for t he purpose of upda ting consoles o f changes in the R elays and Inputs. NEO sends out a single packet each time either a Relay is changed by a ny console or when an input changes due to external event.
3.5 Debounce Input Settings The Debounce hyperlink will open the screen below. Each of the 10 input s can have its own inp ut debounce time. This is t he amount of tim e, in milliseconds, that the input is allowed to stabilize from first change detectio n to final sampling.
3.6 Echo Packet The Echo Packet function allo ws the system to operate on networks that do not support multicast. A typical application might be a number of radios spread throu ghout a network.

3.7 Clone From Other NEO The Clone func tion allows for t he parameters of one NEO to be copied t o another ove r the network. Sim ply enter the IP address of the unit to co py the parameters from a nd press the submit button . Th e parameters will be copied.
3.8 PIN Change The PIN num ber is the passw ord required to enter the set up mode of t he NEO. The default is no PI N number. T he PIN number is a 4 digit num ber that m ust be entered t wice and then s ubmitted.
