10 Chapter 2: H ardwar e Setup 4 T o remove the screw s securin g the top c over, f ollow the step s below : a Remove the tw o sc rew s illustrat ed below . b Remove th e two scr ews locat ed on the b ack. Then slide the top c over in t he dire ction indi cated be low and lift .
11 Chapter 2: H ardwar e Setup 5 T o i nsert the new memory mo dule , fol low the st eps below : a Release the ej ectors on the memory s lot by p ushing the m ou twards. b Align the notch on t he gold ed ge of the module w ith the n otch in the m emory slot.
12 Chapter 2: H ardwar e Setup Confirm New Memor y is Recognized Aft er i nst allin g a new memory module in the RackStation, we recommended chec k ing whet her or not the system recognizes the new memory . To check the memory of the RackStation: 1 Start up y our Rac kStation .
13 Chapter 2: H ardwar e Setup Add a Netw ork Interface Card t o RackStatio n Your R ackStation co ntains tw o PCI Expr ess expansio n slots which all ow y ou to instal l two 1 0G/E or G igabit network interf ace card s for LAN port ex pansion.

I n the ev ent of a fan malfu nct ion , th e RackStatio n will e mit a beepin g s ound. T his sect ion will guid e you thro ugh the steps nec essary t o repla ce a malfunction ing fan.
